SAVE THE DATE!
Makerspace will be BACK for the 2023-2024 season, with some very exciting updates to come! The first event will be on Saturday, September 9th, 2023. Each Makerspace event invites a small group of 5-12 year old autistic children (and their parent or caregiver) to engage in a full afternoon of community art activities with self-paced breaks, appropriate accommodations, and supportive facilitation from a licensed psychotherapist (me!) and my graduate student intern (Chloe!). We use simple, kid-safe tools and art supplies, along with recycled and found materials, to make some serious creative magic happen. Past participants have built life-sized unicorns, castles, space ships, stuffed animal homes, and more! Each event will have a theme this year (for inspiration, as needed), and September's theme is: Characters and Costumes! Get a jump start on Halloween!
