Happening Wednesday evening: Join MAHEC and our Alumni Association for an engaging evening with Shannon Dowler, MD, CPE, FAAFP (Family Medicine Asheville, '02) as she presents "Never Too Late: Keeping Senior Sexual Health on the Front Burner," a candid and insightful conversation on geriatric sexual health, breaking stigma, promoting wellness, and empowering care.

The Alumni Learning Series event on Oct. 29 starts with a networking reception at MAHEC with small bites and drinks, 5:30 - 6:15pm. Dr. Dowler's presentation is 6:15 - 7pm. Can't join in person? As we wrap up National Pharmacy Week, here are some Friday Fun Facts about MAHEC Community Pharmacies, conveniently located in Biltmore and Enka/Candler:

FACT #1: You don't have to be a MAHEC patient to fill your prescription meds at our community pharmacies (and most insurance plans are accepted!). Check us out at mahec.net/pharmacy.

FACT #2: When you fill your prescriptions at MAHEC, you're helping support medication access for people most in need in our community. Last year, our pharmacists helped obtain $4.3 million in medications for underinsured patients at no cost to them!

It's National Healthcare Facilities Week, and MAHEC is grateful for our environmental services staff, maintenance, security, administrators, and all who make possible the care, services, education, and training that MAHEC provides.

You ensure that MAHEC's Biltmore Campus as well as all the satellite offices and student housing units are clean, well-maintained, secure, and safe. You start work every morning before anyone else and are here long after the rest of us are gone.

The number of projects happening at any given time is amazing, plus there are unexpected, urgent needs every day and you're there to address them all with a friendly smile. Cheers and many thanks to our colleagues in Facilities!

• FACULTY COORDINATOR: Help manage clinic and call schedules, support faulty, and coordinate student placements. Regular attendance onsite at our beautiful Biltmore campus is an essential function of this position.

• SCHOOL-BASED BEHAVIORAL THERAPIST: Provide outpatient mental health treatment in an assigned school setting—positions available in schools across Buncombe and Haywood counties. This is a full-time position with the month of July scheduled off.

• SCHOOL NURSE (various schools): Provide nursing services to students attending Buncombe County, Asheville City and assigned Charter schools. This is an 11-month position with July scheduled off.
