As we begin looking ahead to the coming year, we’re opening the conversation and inviting our wider community to help shape what Birth Café becomes next.

Birth Café isn’t about lectures or agendas — it’s about gathering around a table, sharing wisdom, asking real questions, and exploring pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and parenting together.

✨ We’re Growing Our Birth Café Team ✨

The Birthing Community of Southern Oregon is opening space for additional Birth Café facilitators to join our team in the coming year.

Birth Café facilitators help hold warm, welcoming spaces for expectant and new parents — spaces rooted in respect, curiosity, and community care.

We’re especially interested in connecting with people who bring:
• a grounded, inclusive presence
• experience in birth, postpartum, or community care
• a desire to facilitate (not teach or lecture)
• a heart for creating trauma-informed, welcoming spaces

This role is ideal for doulas, midwives, lactation support folks, educators, and community caregivers who value connection as much as information.

This month at Birth Café, we are honored to welcome Antonia Songbird!

She has been working in the
Red Tent & MoonLodge spaces actively for the past 5 years. She carries a lineage of Womb Care practices from her time apprenticing under a well known & respected Maya Elder and Midwife in Guatemala.

She will be sharing about her practice of:
✨ Maya Abdominal Massage
✨ Traditional healing that supports mothers in pregnancy & postpartum

Her work is gentle, powerful, and deeply rooted in tradition — and we can’t wait for our community to receive what she brings. 💛

See her in person in Talent this month and we will have her wisdom to share with our Grants Pass group though she will only be with us in spirit.

Join us Thursday November 13th at Cafe Soleil where the lovely will be sharing and teaching us all about matrescence and the seasons of motherhood!

I’ll be sharing the Seasons of Matrescence model by Nikki McCahon which describes the cyclical nature of motherhood. It’s provides a framework for knowing where you’re at in your process so that you don’t have the distress of feeling lost in your matrescence (the developmental process of becoming mother). I am certified to teach and guide women through this process.
