🚨Huge Shoutout to our OU Practicum Student! Parastesh is a master’s student in Ohio University’s clinical mental health and clinical rehabilitation counseling program, with a rich background in integrated healthcare, particularly in biopsychosocial models. She is deeply interested in the connection between mind and body, especially as it relates to how the stress system impacts our overall well-being.
She is spending her internship at the Refuge Counseling Center. In her counseling practice, Parastesh’s work is rooted in trauma-informed care, with a special heart for working with children and families. Having worked extensively with marginalized communities and refugees, she approaches every session with multicultural humility and a commitment to social justice. Parastesh strives to create a safe, affirming haven where clients can explore their stories, process their lived experiences, and find holistic healing.
