We are a family owned and operated funeral home serving Boyd and Greenup county since 2002 and offer funeral services and memorial services for all faiths. GENERAL PRICE LIST

The goods and services listed below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire, however, all arrangements will include a charge for our basic service and overhead. If legal or other requirements compel the purchase of an item or service it will be detailed in writing on the Statement of Goods and Services.

• PROFESSIONAL SERVICE PACKAGES
A. Traditional Service - 2 hour one evening visitation, funeral services
at the funeral home, chapel, church, or other facility. Services
of funeral director and staff, embalming, other preparation,
committal service, acknowledgment cards, register, and memorials. $ 5750.00

B. One Day Service - 2 hour visitation, same day as services at gravesite
or cemetery chapel. Services of funeral director and staff,
embalming, other preparation, and service memorials. $ 5240.00

C. Contemporary Service - 2 hour one evening visitation, funeral service
at graveside or cemetery chapel. Register book and memorials. $ 5040.00

D. Economical Services - Graveside or cemetery chapel service with no
visitation. (Embalming, other preparation included). $ 4690.00

• SELECTED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
Services of Funeral Director and Staff $ 3250.00
Our charge includes necessary arrangements, counseling, recording vital statistics,
securing and filing necessary documents and permits, notices and coordinating
service plans. This fee will be added to the total cost of itemized arrangements
but is included in the professional service packages above. Embalming $ 1750.00
Except in certain cases embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be
necessary in the selection of certain funeral arrangements. You have the right
to select a service that excludes embalming. Embalming is required by this firm

Cindy Stanley, 72, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 30, at King's Daughters Medical Center following a sudden illness. Cindy was born July 28, 1953 in Ashland, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Robert and Maude Griffith Hall.
Cindy was a mother and grandmother that loved immensely. She was a woman of gentle strength, quiet kindness, and a heart that loved deeply. She was the kind of person who made everyone feel welcome the moment they walked through her door. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and unconditional love—a reflection of who she was. Those who knew Cindy will remember her as the sweetest soul—kind, gentle, and full of grace. She never spoke a harsh word and always put others before herself. Her love continues to live on in the lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply. Cindy will be deeply missed and loved forever by her family and friends. We find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her husband and son, embraced in eternal peace. God is good. She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Wallace Stanley, a son; Wallace Ryan Stanley, and a brother; Leonard Hall, her in-laws Rupert and Faye Stanley, and brother-in-laws Randy Stanley and Steve Bates. Surviving includes her two sons; Darrell Stanley and wife Michelle, of Ashland, KY and Aaron Stanley and wife Tawnya, of Ashland, KY. Six grandchildren; Dustin and his wife Tessa Stevens, Isaac, Talon, Keyleigh, Laynee, Mason, and Max Stanley, and two great grandchildren Ayalla and Asher Stevens. Ryan Stanley, 44, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 28th at home. Ryan was born January 1, 1982 in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of Pamela ‘Cindy’ Hall Stanley and the late Wallace Raymond Stanley. Ryan had an engineer mind that allowed him to work in many different trades from his early years of learning construction and heavy equipment operation from his father to learned electrician and plumbing work, to self taught mechanics and machinist where he built and created what people needed and what intrigued him. Through the years he worked for CW Electric as a mechanic and electrician, for National Concrete and Construction, Smith & Son Plumbing, and self employment as a machinist, contractor, and heavy equipment operator. He was brilliant in so many ways. If there was a problem he could figure it out and fix it. His most important job was being a father, which he strived to be his best at. He loved his children beyond measure and longed to spend all the time he could with them. The love they shared was special. He loved his family and helping others, as well as teaching people how to create or fix things. He was a kind man, that loved without limits, worked very hard, was a good provider, and a caring man that worked hard to do good and take care of others. His heart was full of love and care, and he always wanted to make sure that everyone was alright. Ryan is survived, by his daughter; Laynee Stanley, his two sons; Mason and Max Stanley, two brothers; Darrell Stanley and wife Michelle, Aaron Stanley and wife Tawnya, his nephews Isaac and Talon Stanley, Dustin Stevens and wife Tessa, and niece Keyleigh Stanley, a great niece Ayalla Stevens and great nephew Asher Stevens. Ruth Daniels, 98, formerly of Ashland, Kentucky, died peacefully March 30, at Vanceburg Hills in Vanceburg, Kentucky, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Ruth was born March 30, 1927 in Mingo County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Wayne and Alice Stepp Johnson. A woman that loved her family, being survived by 3 children, 2 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by a daughter; Natasha Lyn Copley-Spears, granddaughter; Susy Miller, and 3 brothers; Watson Johnson, Hobart Johnson, Roy Lee Johnson. She was a faithful woman of God, who’s guidance and prayers covered and comforted many. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and a graduate, with her Masters in Education degree, from Marshall University, Huntington, West Virginia. Ruth was a school teacher and principal from the late 1940’s into the mid 1970’s. She taught school in West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and Virginia. A yellow rose was her favorite flower. Arts and Crafts were her hobby. She loved her pets and loved cooking and eating. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Graveside services will be Saturday, April 4th at 10:00 AM at Dixon Cemetery in Westwood, Kentucky. Arrangements are under the direction of PRESTON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME.

Dottie Frances Watts (84), of Westwood, died March 27 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Dottie was born November 16, 1941 to Otis and Cora Morgan Watts in Ashland. Dottie attended Fairview Schools and received a Machine Operator certification from Ashland State Vocational School. As a teenager, she worked at GC Murphy and Cinderella Dress Shop and later worked at Pennco, Semet Solvay, and National Mines. In 1983, she moved to the Nashville, Tennessee area where she lived for 30 years. While in TN, she worked for Nicholstone and Rand McNally before retiring from Randall House Publishing. She moved back to Westwood in 2012. In TN, Dottie was a member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church and attended Rose Road Chapel in Ironville. While not having children of her own, Dottie was a big part in helping raise many of her 23 nieces and nephews, 29 great nieces and nephews, and 37 great-great nieces and nephews. Dottie is survived by two sisters, Betty Ferrell of Gas City, IN, and Loretta Huff of Westwood. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings- Earl “Peanut” Watts, Imogene Hartley, Paul “Sonny” Watts, Lola Hazelwood, Jack Watts, Otis Watts, Jr, Bill Watts, Woody Watts, Frank“Deke” Watts, Roger Watts, and an infant sister Beatrice Ruth Watts. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 31st at 1:00 PM at PRESTON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME by Pastor Duane Howard. Interment will follow at Dixon Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 11:00 AM until service time.

Survivors include a brother Eli Roger Workman, two sisters Adriana Grace Arnett and Ellie Rose Workman, paternal grandmother Kaylane Workman, maternal grandmother Paula Sadler, and her Godmother Jaidyn Nolan. Greta Faye (Gibson) Grayson, 78, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, was called up to Heaven on Friday, March 13th, 2026, at Paramount Senior Living of Ona, West Virginia. She passed peacefully in her own bed, in the presence of family, while holding the hand of God. Greta was born on January 12th, 1948, in Catlettsburg as the 12th child of what would become fourteen. She was preceded in death by both parents; Noah and Mattie Gibson, five siblings: James, Charles, Curt, Charlotte, and Dennis. Many of her sibling's spouses, and her husband of 54 years; Donnie Jack Grayson, Sr. Greta put family first, raising her boys until they could fend for themselves. She worked for the Boyd County school system for more than 20 years as a parent-teacher advocate. Greta was a member of many churches throughout her life, including Durbin Church of the Nazarene of Catlettsburg and Heritage Baptist of Ashland. The greatest joys in her life were her flowers and her grandchildren--Trevor Fultz, Taylor Wiley, Thane Grayson, Keyan Grayson, Thatcher Grayson, and Zuri Grayson; and her great grandchildren--Connor Wiley, Grayson Wiley, Fox Fultz, and Copper Fultz. She is survived by her two sons, Donnie and Kevin, their wives Jo and Alisha, the aforementioned grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and eight siblings: Helen, Belle, Fred, Pauletta, Bill, Glenn, Sharon, and Danny, and their spouses; and too many nieces and nephews to count. As is written in Exodus 20:12, "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you." Greta and Jack are together now and for all the days that remain. Services will be Monday, March 16, at 1:00pm at PRESTON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME by Pastor Barry Long. Karen Rose Alley, 2025 Rockingham County Fair blue ribbon winner for her banana bread and coffee cake, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Karen was born August 18, 1941, in the apartment over her grandparent’s grocery store, in Northfork, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Eldon Gerald and Audrey Elizabeth Gross Rose, and a sister to Jerry Bruce Rose who died in the Vietnam War in early 1965. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Oscar Alvin Alley, Jr. (aka Mr. Wonderful). Karen is survived by their three children, Robert Martin Alley, and wife Mary Cheryl, of Tyrone GA. Lisa Alley Shaak, and husband John Carl, of Newnan GA, and Dr. Jerri Lynn Alley of Harrisonburg VA. Grandchildren; Chase Nicholas Alley, and wife Hayley Joyce, of Klamath Falls OR. Jackson Kendall Alley of Coral Gables FL, Audrey Shaak Penshorn, and husband Thomas William, and great grandchild Bruce Thomas Penshorn of Houston, TX. Allie Shaak Nott, and husband Jordan Anderson, of Greenville SC. Andrew Philip Shaak of Daphne, AL. Stella Rose Alexiou and Ezra “Link” Alley of Harrisonburg, VA. Karen graduated from Huntington High School, Huntington, West Virginia, class of 1959, and became a Licensed Practical Nurse in her early twenties before starting a family with her beloved husband. Karen loved to bake and gave out her famous banana bread and coffee cake with love and joy whenever she could. She was also a passionate writer, and several of her poems and stories were published in the monthly periodical, “Good Old Days”. She was a former Westwood, Kentucky Boys Club cheerleading coach and was a member of the Valley Greeters and Valley Greeters Book Club in Harrisonburg, VA for 24 years. Karen and Oscar were members of Vision of Hope United Methodist Church. A resident of Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg for two years, Karen was extremely involved in many of the planned activities and clubs offered there. She also played a role in their advertising campaigns, and even starred in their recent television commercial. She was extraordinarily grateful to the entire team at Sunnyside for making her last two years so fulfilling. Karen leaves behind many longtime and wonderful friends, particularly in Virginia and Eastern Kentucky. Celebration of Life Services will be held on March 27th at 1:00 PM at the Meredith Chapel at Sunnyside Retirement Community, 3935 Sunnyside Drive, Harrison, Virginia, and Saturday, April 18th, at 10:00 AM at the Bellefonte Country Club, 208 Country Club Drive, Bellefonte (Ashland), Kentucky. Gary Bishop Sr., 75, of Wurtland, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born August 28, 1950, in Ashland, Kentucky, Gary was the son of the late Doliver and Evelyn Bishop. He grew up in the region and made his home in Wurtland, where he lived a life defined by kindness, hard work, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. Gary spent his career as a Heavy Equipment Operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181. He worked primarily at Armco Steel, Solvay, and Ashland Oil, and took great pride in helping construct the Jesse Stuart Memorial Bridge in Lloyd, Kentucky, as well as the Industrial Parkway. His skill, reliability, and steady hand were respected by all who worked alongside him. Even after retirement, he remained the go-to person for fixing just about anything. Above all, Gary was a gentle, sweet soul who never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was the epitome of a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He and his beloved wife, Rohna Bishop, shared 57 years of marriage, spending their lives committed to one another with deep love and mutual support. Gary cherished time with his family most of all. He loved animals, fishing, working on cars, and woodworking—crafting many special keepsakes that his family and friends will treasure forever. His hobbies reflected his patient, handy nature and his desire to create meaningful things for the people he cared about. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rohna Bishop of Wurtland; his son, Gary Bishop Jr. of Wurtland; his daughter, Sonya Holbrook and her husband, Ron Holbrook, of Flatwoods, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Austin Bishop and his wife Allie of Kitts Hill, Ohio, Brianna Bishop and Joey Guldag of Beverly Hills, California, Haley Riggs of Flatwoods, and Kiki Riggs of Flatwoods; and his great-grandchildren, Weston Bishop, Beau Bishop, and Luke Bishop of Kitts Hill, Ohio. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who felt like family. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Doliver and Evelyn Bishop; his brothers, Douglas Bishop and Timothy Bishop; and his sisters, Janet Bishop, Lois Bishop, and Barbara Ann Bishop. Arnold was born July 8, 1937 in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of the late Arnold ‘Doc’ and Garnet Stewart Sexton, Sr. He was a former sales representative with the Daily Independent, was a member of Flatwoods First Baptist Church, President of the KYOVA Gospel Music Association, founding member of the New Vision Trio, and a Kentucky Colonel. Arnold was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a grandson; John Dyer, and a brother; Edward Sexton. He is survived by his wife; Deanna Douglas Sexton. A son; Jeff Sexton, and wife Bea, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky. 4 daughters; Jennifer Clay, and husband Richard, of Grandview, Missouri. Kim Harris, and husband Fred, of Flatwoods, Kentucky. Ryan was born January 1, 1982 in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of Pamela ‘Cindy’ Hall Stanley and the late Wallace Raymond Stanley. Ryan was a self employed Contractor and mechanic and enjoyed spending time with the Stanley/Hall families. He is survived, in addition to his mother, by 2 sons; Mason and Max Stanley. A daughter; Laynee Stanley, and 2 brothers; Darrell Stanley, and wife Michelle, and Aaron Stanley, and wife Tawnya. Arrangements under the direction of PRESTON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME.
