This is the real conversation we need to have.
Just because an office is “in network” doesn’t mean it’s run by people who put your care first.
Are you choosing a practice based only on insurance… without knowing who’s actually behind it?
Is it owned and led by dentists with clinical goals, or managed by a business team where the dentist oversees multiple offices and patients become numbers?
Are you being cared for… or processed as another insurance patient on a schedule?

And to my fellow doctors:
Value your expertise. Value your worth.
You don’t have to shrink yourself to fit insurance tables. Go out of network if it aligns with your standards📌use patients’ benefits, but don’t let insurance dictate your dentistry.
It’s okay to say “no” when patients only want what their plan covers.
You trained for excellence, not limitations.

🎉 Huge congratulations to Ann Glave, Existing Business & Project Manager with Hanover County Economic Development, on graduating from the Virginia Rural Center Leadership Institute Class of 2025!

We’re thrilled to celebrate Ann’s achievement as one of the newest graduates of the Institute, a prestigious program dedicated to empowering leaders who are passionate about strengthening rural communities across the Commonwealth. Her commitment to Hanover County and rural Virginia shines through in everything she does, and this milestone is a testament to her vision, leadership, and dedication.

The Virginia Rural Center’s announcement highlighted the diverse and dynamic group of graduates who completed the program this year, and we couldn’t be prouder to see Ann (pictured center) among them. Her work continues to elevate Hanover County as a vibrant place to live, work, and grow.
