💙 School‑Based Physical Therapy Makes a Difference 💙
Our AIS Physical therapists support students in meaningful, everyday ways—right where learning happens.
School‑based PTs help students:
✔️ Move safely and confidently throughout the school day
✔️ Participate in classroom routines and transitions
✔️ Access learning through movement and positioning
✔️ Build independence in school environments
✔️ Engage with peers during play and group activities
From the classroom to the playground, school‑based physical therapy focuses on functional skills that support participation, inclusion, and success at school.
When students can move and access their environment, they can learn, connect, and thrive.

Have you been looking for a way to increase you or your students typing speed, keyboard reaction time, and/or braille skills? If so, check out the browser based activities at https://marconius.com/

The Roll With It Typing Tutor provides sentences to type on topics such as guide dogs and space and gives the user their speed, accuracy and suggested keys to practice to improve their score. The Whack a Braille application allows the user to work on uncontracted or contracted Braille skills by typing the correct character to remove it from the board. Finally, the Audio Invaders application works on building auditory skills and reaction time by having the participant track down and remove the incoming space crafts from the board. So, whether you or your student is in need of a bit of educational fun or a way to feed that competitive spirit, check out these web based projects to improve your skills and have some fun at the same time.

Due to the complexity and spectrum of skills taught by orientation and mobility instructors, combined with the limitations of being on a computer for instruction, AIS does not provide virtual O&M services.

We are committed to do our best to find high quality, on-site services for students needing orientation and mobility instruction.

For fun, here's a cartoon video of a child walking with incorrect cane technique (thanks AI) on a sidewalk with a cane and two adults. One adult is recording the lesson for the virtual instructor, who is seen watching the video on the screen from the computer desk.

Check out the latest innovation in accessible sports with OneCourt. OneCourt is a tactile device set up like a sports field that delivers haptic or vibration feedback to individuals about the sport they are listening to, either in a stadium during a live game or at home. The device allows the individual to follow the ball across the court in real time from the device, enhancing their experience at the event.
