Secure Without Sight
Presenter: David Moyle
Join David Moyle as he highlights Secure Without Sight, a program designed to teach TVI’s and mobility teachers how to teach self-defense to their non-sighted or partially sighted students. Obviously one session is not enough to take on such a monumental task, however, after studying the martial arts for 40 years and doing OM for 28, David wanted to give teachers a few basics that would help them on their way and give them a starting point.

A week ago today, Fernando Mendoza led Indiana University to victory over Miami! Throughout the week multiple stories regarding Mendoza's journey of rejection by over 130+ schools prior to his victory came across my feed. As I was reading through his story, I couldn't help but see the parallel to our students who have disabilities.

In one of the stories, Coach Curt Cignetti is quoted in telling Mendoza one thing: "I'm going to turn you into the best Fernando Mendoza possible." The Coach belived in Mendoza

It took one single Coach to take a chance, quiet the doubters, and turn rejection into victory!

At AIS we work to teach and equip our students with the skills and techniques necessary to overcome rejection and reach their full potential. We turn CAN'T into CAN and support our teams to turn our students into the best student/individual possible.
