💜April Employee spotlight✨

This month, we are excited to feature Madison Allen-Caregiver/MedTech

Madison was born and raised in Medford, Oregon, and has called the area home her entire life. Although she has traveled to a few states, including Georgia and Nebraska where her sister live, Southern Oregon will always be where her roots are.

Family means a great deal to Madison. She lives with her mom and her boyfriend, both of whom she considers her best friends. Their home is also shared with four beloved kitties who bring plenty of joy to her life. In her free time, Madison enjoys relaxing with her loved ones, going on peaceful walks, and taking quiet drives to the woods where she can enjoy the calm and beauty of nature.

Madison’s passion for memory care comes from a very personal place. When she was young, she lost both her Nana and Grandmother and felt she was too young at the time to help care for them in their final days. Her Nana Joy lived with dementia, and that experience inspired Madison to pursue a career where she could provide comfort and support to others facing similar challenges. She finds great meaning in caring for memory care residents and hopes to continue her journey in healthcare by attending nursing school to become an LPN and eventually an RN specializing in memory care.

Madison’s heart, compassion, and dedication make her a valued member of the Village at Valley View team! Thank you Madison for your hard work and dedication to our resident's and families💜✨

🍀 Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt Fun! 🍀

The luck of the Irish was in the air at Village at Valley View as our residents set off on a playful Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! 🌈✨

Hidden throughout our community were mischievous little leprechauns just waiting to be discovered. Residents and staff enjoyed searching high and low following the foot steps, sharing laughs, and celebrating the spirit of the holiday together. Activities like these bring so much joy, encourage movement, spark memories, and create meaningful moments for everyone involved.

There may not have been a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but the smiles, laughter, and time spent together were more valuable than any treasure. 💚🍀

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from all of us at Village at Valley View!

💚🍀🌈

This month, we are excited to feature Jackie Daugherty, our Business Office Manager.

Jackie Daugherty was born in Utah and moved to Southern Oregon at a young age, growing up in Medford and graduating from North Medford High School in 1988.

Her passion for working with seniors began at just 15 years old when she worked in the kitchen of a retirement home alongside her mother, who was a CNA.

As a single mother, Jackie raised four children while building a career dedicated to helping others. She later earned her Associate’s degree in Human Services from Rogue Community College and gained experience in both senior care and office management.

In 2024, Jackie returned to Oregon and joined Village at Valley View, where she continues her commitment to supporting seniors and their families.

Outside of work, Jackie enjoys genealogy and helping reunite adoptees with their birth families. She also loves spending time with her grandchildren and is excited to welcome two granddaughters this summer.

📚 Village at Valley View Resource Library 📚

At Village at Valley View, we believe that knowledge, support, and shared experiences make the journey through Alzheimer’s and Dementia a little easier. Our Resource Library was created for our residents’ families, friends, and visitors as a place to learn, grow, and support one another.

Families are welcome to take a book, borrow a book, or trade a book. By sharing resources and experiences, we help each other better understand the different stages of Alzheimer’s and Dementia and find comfort in knowing we are not alone on this journey.

Whether you're looking for guidance, reassurance, or simply a new perspective, our library is here for you. Together we can continue learning, supporting, and growing as a community. 💜

📖 Take a book. Leave a book. Share the knowledge.

Here at Village at Valley View Memory Care, garden clean-up day turned into so much more than pulling weeds and refreshing flower beds — it became a beautiful moment of purpose, teamwork, and joy.

Our resident(s) who love to help rolled up their sleeves, enjoyed the fresh air, and took pride in making our outdoor spaces bloom again. 🌼 From tidying up planter boxes to gently tending the soil, every helping hand made a difference.

Gardening isn’t just about plants — it’s about:
🌱 Stimulating the senses
🌞 Soaking up vitamin D-even on cloudy days
💚 Encouraging movement and coordination
🤝 Building connection and purpose

The smiles, the laughter, and the sense of accomplishment were the real blossoms of the day.

We are so proud of our residents and grateful for these meaningful moments together.
