Most of us say “yes” before our nervous system even has a chance to weigh in.
A simple pause — and three deep, intentional breaths — can shift you from reacting to responding.

Deep breathing signals safety to the body.
It lowers cortisol, calms the fight-or-flight response, and brings you back into the present moment so you can make decisions from clarity, not pressure.

A small pause can become a powerful reset.

✨ Breathe first. Then choose.

Tired… but still wired?
I lived in this state for years without realizing my body was trying to tell me something.

If this is your season too, I’m talking about what it really means — and the gentle steps that help you calm your system and come back home to yourself. 💛

🌟 Tired, But Wired?

Here’s What Your Body Is Really Telling You.

If you’re feeling exhausted all day…
but then wired at night, can’t sleep…
you’re not alone.

This time of year, I hear this more than anything else:

“I’m tired… but I can’t shut off.”

Here’s the truth ⬇️

When your nervous system stays in fight-or-flight too long, the adrenals pump out stress hormones just to keep you functioning.

You stay alert — but not in a healthy way.
It’s that tired but wired energy… where your mind won’t slow down even though your body is done.

Over time, this can look like:

• morning fatigue
• afternoon crashes
• waking up at 2–4 AM
• feeling “on edge”
• trouble relaxing
• emotional sensitivity
• difficulty focusing
• deep fatigue hiding underneath the surface

This isn’t lack of willpower.
It’s a root-cause adrenal and nervous system imbalance.

And truthfully, caffeinating yourself through the day isn’t the answer — it might help you push through, but it also keeps you in that “wired” state and prevents the body from fully shifting a pair of sympathetic mode, which allows you to sleep well and reset.

This time of year — with holidays, stress, schedules, emotions, and busyness — your adrenals often take the biggest hit.

But the good news is: your body can come back into balance with gentle, consistent support.

🌿 My two favorite gentle adrenal supports this time of year:

✨ Drenamin

My go-to whole-food blend for calming the nervous system and supporting healthy stress resilience.
Great for the person who feels tired, overwhelmed, overstimulated, and emotionally drained.

✨ Adrenal Tonic (MediHerb)

A gentle herbal formula that helps:
• regulate healthy cortisol rhythm
• prevent the “wired at night” feeling
• support steady, calm daytime energy

Perfect for the person who says,
“I crash… then I get a second wind… and I can’t calm down at night.”

❤️ If this is you… you don’t have to keep feeling this way.

Your body is asking for nourishment — not more pushing.

✨ Message me or schedule a Complete Wellness Evaluation.
Both new and returning patients welcome.

Your energy can come back — and so can you.

Both supplements are in stock in our office for pickup. I ship anywhere. Or Oder on our website.

😴 Nourish Your Way to Better Sleep

Did you know your evening snack could actually help you drift off more easily?
Certain foods are naturally rich in magnesium, tryptophan, B-vitamins, and calming plant compounds that support your body’s ability to relax and reset.

🍒 Cherries, kiwi, and bananas contain nutrients that help your body produce melatonin — your natural sleep hormone.
🌰 Nuts and seeds like walnuts, pistachios, almonds, and pumpkin seeds are full of magnesium to calm the nervous system.
🥣 Oatmeal, quinoa, and lentils supply complex carbs that help serotonin production.
🌿 And a cup of chamomile tea or warm yogurt with figs makes a gentle, soothing bedtime ritual.

🚫 Foods & Habits to Avoid Before Bed

Just as some foods help you sleep, others can sabotage it. A few simple swaps can make a big difference:
• Skip large meals late at night. Heavy or greasy foods keep your digestive system working overtime.
• Avoid refined sugar and desserts — they spike blood sugar and can wake you during the night.
• Limit caffeine (coffee, energy drinks, chocolate, even green tea) after noon; its half-life lingers for hours.
• Watch alcohol. It might make you drowsy initially, but it fragments deep sleep.
• Cut back on ultra-processed snacks high in sodium or MSG; they dehydrate and stimulate the nervous system.
• Put away screens and dim lights an hour before bed to let melatonin rise naturally.

🌙 Evening Rhythm Reminder

A calm nervous system = restorative sleep.
Try pairing one of these sleep-boosting foods with quiet rituals — gentle stretching, prayer or journaling, and a few deep breaths — to signal your body it’s safe to rest.

🌿 Supplement Spotlight: Adrenal Tonic

This is one of my favorite products to keep on hand — MediHerb’s Adrenal Tonic. I don’t take it every day, but when life feels a little heavier or my stress levels creep up, this is the one I reach for.

It’s a blend of adaptogenic herbs that help your body adapt to stress more gracefully — things like:
Licorice root for steady energy,
Rehmannia for cortisol balance,
Siberian Ginseng for stamina,
and Ashwagandha for calm focus and emotional steadiness.

As we head into the holidays, it’s easy to feel stretched thin — more to do, less rest, and often more caffeine than we really need. I’ve actually cut way back on caffeine lately and noticed such a difference: my energy feels steady all day, my mood is lighter, and my focus is sharper.

If you’re feeling that “tired but wired” feeling or just need a little reset before the holidays, this gentle formula can make a world of difference.

✨ Here’s to staying calm, grounded, and connected to nature’s rhythm — even during the busiest season.
