Tri-Vet was awarded the fabrication of the Rolled Base Steel Ties and Gantry Support Brackets for the Eagle Mountain Woodfibre Gas Pipeline Project, a 9-Kilometer-long tunnel in Vancouver, British Columbia.

One of these Rolled Base Steel Ties is placed every meter inside the tunnel to support the Slurry Train and the Gantry System.

Tri-Vet was awarded the contract to fabricate a Shield Cradle for a Tunnel Boring Machine that is to be used to expand I-65 in Hampton Roads, Virginia. We are very excited to be a part of this "High Profile" project.

It will take several months to complete the fabrication of the Shield Cradle and ship it to the jobsite. Once there the pieces will be assembled, lowered down the shaft and anchored into place. The Tunnel Boring Machine named Mary will then be assembled on top of our Shield Cradle. Because Mary weighs in at an impressive 9 million pounds, our Quality Control Team will be inspecting every weld on every assembly.

One of our most interesting projects to date, an automated switch structure we built for Kazzinc Ltd., Ridder Mining and Concentration Complex(RMCC) in East Kazakhstan.

Atlantic Track and Turnout provided the rails and Tri-Vet fabricated and assembled the structure. Tri-Vet also designed and fabricated the "A-Frames" that were used to secure the switch into the shipping container for its long trip to East Kazakhstan.

Steel Pan Stair and Wire Mesh railing for Best Cigar Prices in Drums, Pa. This project included the exterior stair and balcony railing (shown) in addition to an interior stair with wire mesh railing.

Tri-Vet partnered with Atlantic Track and Turnout to produce this one-of-a kind Pipe Carrier Passing Switch, a.k.a Sliding Switch. This was produced for Kelley Engineered Equipment in Omaha, Nebraska. Once complete and on site, the switch was stood straight up and lowered down a several hundred-foot-deep mine shaft using only the lifting lugs welded to the end.

I know its been a while since I last posted, but we have been busy.

This picture is from a project we completed for the Hampton Roads Tunnel project. Tri-Vet fabricated the Shield Cradle for "Mary" the tunnel boring machine. The shield cradle supported the full weight of Mary as she launched to bore the first of 2 tunnels. Once Mary was fully in the first tunnel, the Shield Cradle was moved to the North Island so Mary could once again rest her full weight on it to begin boring the second tunnel. When fully assembled, Mary is
46 feet tall, more than 430 feet in length and weighs over 4,700 tons or 9 million pounds.
