BioSurfaces is a leader in producing medical devices using our proprietary electrospinning process (Bio-Spun).

Our Bio-Spun materials induce tissue integration, reduce foreign body reaction, are structurally versatile and can locally deliver drug(s). BioSurfaces, LLC seeks to improve the quality of medical care by augmenting existing and emerging medical approaches with our cutting-edge nanotechnology. The use of yesterday’s technology in today’s medical devices causes unacceptable complication rates and fatalities. The direct implementation of our nanotechnology allows us to deliver innovative solutions that show significant improvements over industry standards. We believe that our solutions are the future of biomedical devices, and will dramatically improve patients’ quality of care upon their use.

We’ve been laying the groundwork for what’s next — and we’re excited to start sharing it.

Over the coming weeks/months, we’ll be releasing a new publication based on our In Vitro Research Tools (IVRT) and the benefits of our material for tissue model development, alongside a new and improved Spin Cycle page that dives into new data and updated insights. We’re also putting the finishing touches on an IVRT animation, scheduled to drop next month, that brings the work to life in a new way.

There’s a lot ahead, and this is just the beginning. Stay tuned for what’s coming next.

The U.S. Senate has unanimously passed the FDA Modernization Act 3.0, directing FDA to update drug regulations to reflect modern nonclinical testing approaches, including in vitro and other human-relevant methods.

As regulators continue to embrace New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), platforms like BioSurfaces’ IVRT (In Vitro Research Tools) are increasingly important. BioSurfaces’ IVRT platform supports nonclinical research by enabling reproducible, human-relevant in vitro data generation—aligned with FDA’s push to modernize drug development and reduce reliance on animal testing.

This legislation reinforces a clear direction: future-ready science will be human-relevant, data-driven, and in vitro–enabled.

2024 began with uncertainty, but 2025 has far exceeded expectations. We’ve:
