Thank you to Randolph-Macon College for having us out today to talk about job search anxiety.

Dr. Berina’s project management class did a great job of raising awareness of this workshop and filling the room.

Students had the opportunity to learn techniques for managing the stress related to looking for a job.

Are you feeling the pressure of the job or internship search? You're not alone. The stress and anxiety from conducting a job search are becoming the new norm. The Edge Career Center invites you to join an experiential workshop led by Ederis Martinez-Cunion of Your Path Counseling Center, designed to give you practical tools for a less stressful search.

The "From Panic to Purpose: Strategies for Managing Job Search Anxiety" workshop will teach you evidence-based strategies to manage the emotional toll of job hunting. You will learn how to:

Boost Resilience: Develop a strong mindset to handle rejection, viewing it as a learning experience rather than a personal failure.

Focus on the Controllable: Identify the factors you can control, like how many jobs you apply to and the quality of your resume.

Build skills: Learn practical techniques to help manage job search stress.

This workshop offers an opportunity to develop the mental preparedness necessary to navigate a job search.

This workshop is open to all R-MC students AND alumni!
Date: Thursday, November 6, 2025
Time: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Location: Fox Hall, Room 108

On this World Mental Health Day, we honor the legacy of Santiago Ramón y Cajal. Santiago Ramón y Cajal is considered the father of modern neuroscience. In 1906, he received the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine. He is best known for the Neuron Doctrine, which theorizes that the nervous system is composed of discrete individual cells. This finding has influenced our understanding of how the brain works.

Today, we pause to acknowledge Dr. Martha Bernal's contribution to the mental health field. Dr. Bernal played a pivotal role in promoting greater inclusivity in the field of mental health, particularly in research. Her efforts have led to a better understanding of how race, culture, and gender impact mental health.
