Organic vs. Non-Organic shopping….?
Let’s talk about it!
Benefits of Organic produce and foods:
🥕 Significantly lower pesticide and chemical exposure
🥕 Higher nutrient content including antioxidants, vitamins and minerals
🥕 No GMO’s
Foods that should be bought Organic when possible
(The Dirty Dozen):
* Strawberries, Spinach, Kale, Grapes, Peaches, Cherries, Nectarines, Pears, Apples, Blackberries, Blueberries, Potatoes
Foods that are okay to be bought Non-Organic (The Clean 15):
* Bananas, Mushrooms, Kiwi, Carrots, Cauliflower, Mangoes, Watermelon, Cabbage, Asparagus, Frozen Sweet Peas, Onions, Papaya, Avacadoes, Sweet Corn, Pineapple
While buying organic is usually a bit more expensive, the long-term health benefits can be quite substantial and most stores including Aldi and Walmart have organic options in most of these foods.
