May is Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Awareness Month đź’š
Let’s talk facts—because understanding replaces stigma.
BPD is a real and treatable mental health condition that affects how a person experiences emotions, relationships, and their sense of self. It is not a character flaw, and it is not a choice.
🔹 Many individuals with BPD feel emotions more intensely and for longer periods of time
🔹 Fear of abandonment is a core struggle—not manipulation
🔹 Impulsivity and mood swings are often rooted in deep emotional pain
🔹 Trauma and invalidating environments are common contributing factors
🔹 With the right support, people with BPD can and do recover
Treatments like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) have been proven to help individuals build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthier relationships.
At Breaking Chains, we believe in meeting people where they are—with compassion, not judgment.
This month, we’re going real.
We’re breaking stigma.
We’re building understanding.
