Another great week at the at the Pitkin County Senior Services Senior Center. A huge thanks to the Pitkin County Government Human Resources team who came out to volunteer and grab lunch. More than 55 older adult households received free, fresh produce from Two Roots Farm. All of this was made possible through grant funds from Nourish Colorado and is a wonderful program positively impacting for our community.

The Age-Friendly Farmer's Market is held each Thursday through October at the Senior Center and starts at 11:00 am. The vegetables are available to anyone 60 years of age or older living in Pitkin County, while supplies last.

We had a great turnout today (even with the rain) at Pitkin County Senior Services and more than 45 households received free fresh, local, produce from Two Roots Farm that was purchased using grant funds awarded by Nourish Colorado. A huge thanks to all of our great volunteers and we look forward to seeing everyone next week. This produce is available for anyone over the age of 60 that lives in Pitkin County. The distributions begin each Thursday at 11:00 am and continue while supplies last. It is first come, first served.

If you said yes to these questions, please come over to the Pitkin County Senior Center tomorrow (Thursday, June 16th) between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm and get some free vegetables grown by Two Roots Farm and paid for using grant funds secured by Nourish Colorado. The vegetables are first come, first served and available while supplies last. Please bring a bag if you have one. Don't forget to register today if you would like to have lunch at the Senior Center while you are there.

¡Fue un gran primer día para el Mercado de Agricultores Amigables con la Edad 2022 en Pitkin County Senior Services! Gracias a todos nuestros excelentes voluntarios por venir a ayudar a distribuir todas estas deliciosas verduras orgánicas cultivadas localmente de Two Roots Farm. Gracias a una generosa subvención de Nourish Colorado, podemos distribuir este producto nutritivo a los adultos mayores de forma gratuita todos los jueves hasta el 20 de octubre de 2022. Great first day of the 2022 Age-Friendly Farmers Market at Pitkin County Senior Services! Thank you to all of our great volunteers for coming out to help distribute all of these delicious organic, locally-grown veggies from Two Roots Farm. Thanks to a generous grant from Nourish Colorado, we are able to distribute this nutritious produce to older adults free of charge each Thursday through October 20th, 2022. The distribution starts at 11:00 am and is first come, first served. Anyone over the age of 60 and living in Pitkin County is welcome. Don't forget to sign up for a delicious lunch at the Senior Center either!

ROARING FORK VALLEY FARMING/RANCHING SURVEY

Are you interested in getting to farming and/or ranching? Pitkin County Human Services is working with local farming-related nonprofit organizations to pursue grant funds that will help develop programs to support local agriculture in the Roaring Fork Valley as well as provide opportunities for new farmers and ranchers to break into the industry.
