February is National Heart Health Month ❤️ — and at AllWays Community Health Center, we’re celebrating the connection between healthy smiles and healthy hearts!

Did you know that good oral health can support heart health? Gum disease has been linked to heart disease, which means brushing, flossing, and keeping up with regular dental visits does more than brighten your smile — it supports your whole-body wellness.

This month, show your heart (and your smile) some love:

February has brought many meaningful moments of celebration for AllWays Community Health Center, including the opportunity to attend the annual banquet hosted by the Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce earlier this month.

Several of our colleagues joined the evening’s festivities, celebrating alongside fellow Atchison businesses and this year’s award recipients. It was a wonderful night spent in great company, honoring the strength and spirit of our local community. ❤️

We were honored to have representatives from AllWays Community Health Center, Laura Gigstad, Dental Operations Manager, and Erin Bates, Outreach Hygienist, in attendance as Governor Laura Kelly signed a proclamation declaring February as Children’s Dental Health Month in Kansas 🦷💙

Thank you to Oral Health Kansas and community partners for highlighting the importance of oral health and supporting healthy smiles for Kansas kids!

On January 30, 2026, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly signed a proclamation declaring February is Children’s Dental Health Month in Kansas. Oral Health Kansas staff, board and Shawnee County Oral Health Coalition members attended the signing.

At ACHC, our shared commitment to community drives what comes next. 💙

Recently, several of our board members and staff came together to listen, share ideas, and brainstorm during our Strategic Planning workshop. This time together helps ensure ACHC continues to provide high-quality, accessible, and compassionate care that meets the needs of the communities we serve.

During the workshop, we identified our shared strengths to build on, discussed current constraints, explored opportunities to grow, and planned ways to proactively respond to the external pressures we face daily.

Thank you, Atchison Rotary Club, for the opportunity to share more about AllWays Community Health Center. 💙 We appreciate the support and partnership as we continue serving our community and expanding access to care.

During this week's program we enjoyed hearing from Brandi Oom, Executive Director, and Denise Schuele, Community Development, from AllWays Community Health Center.

They shared updates about a new clinic opening in the near future in downtown Atchison, which will help ensure local residents have access to essential health services such as medical, dental, and behavioral health care, regardless of insurance status.

We especially appreciated learning about their work in local schools, where they help make sure children receive dental care they might not otherwise have.
