Learn canine body language: growling, stiffness, lip licking, or backing away show discomfort. Always supervise children. Teach them to approach dogs calmly. Dog parks are a great way for pups to burn energy, socialize, and have fun, but they can also come with risks if we’re not careful. At 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆, we want to help you keep playtime safe and prevent avoidable injuries or emergency visits. 💙

🐶 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗼𝗴 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸:

Stay attentive and watch your dog’s body language. Interrupt play if it becomes too rough or tense.

Not every dog enjoys group play. If your dog seems anxious, overwhelmed, or reactive, it’s okay to skip the park.
💉 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 & 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Dog parks increase exposure to parasites and contagious illnesses, so prevention is key.
🦴 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝘆𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀
These can sometimes trigger resource guarding or fights between dogs.
🚰 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿
Shared water bowls can spread illness. A portable bowl helps reduce risk.
🚪 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘁
Remove leashes only inside designated areas and keep gates secure to prevent escapes.

🚨 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲:
• Bite wounds or injuries
• Limping or sudden pain
• Excessive panting or signs of heat exhaustion
• Vomiting, lethargy, or collapse after play
