At Mercy Health Center, we carry this message of hope and redemption into our daily work. Through quality, whole-person health care, we share the love of Jesus every day. We are humbled to follow the example of Christ’s compassion and service.

We had a busy month of . We started the month with the St. Mary's Health Care System and the Athens-Clarke County Library sharing information about Mercy at their .

The following weekend, we attended the Fun Walk with the UCBC Cares Foundation where we helped bring awareness to .

That same day, Mercy volunteers partnered with The Backpack Project for their annual , providing glucose checks, blood pressure checks, and providing information about Mercy's services.

Finally, we rounded out the month with the Athens Area Realtors & Classic MLS, Inc. Family Fun Day! We are grateful for all the support from the Athens Area Realtors and excited to hang out with them and tell people all about what Mercy offers in the community.

Stories like Chip Chambers, MD, MBA are a powerful reminder that experiences in college can shape a lifetime of purpose.

As highlighted in this article, before becoming a physician serving rural communities, Chip spent time volunteering at Mercy Health Center, where his passion for whole person care and curiosity about healthcare systems began to take root.

Growing up in Watkinsville, Georgia, just outside of Athens, Chip Chambers knew two things: He wanted to attend the University of Georgia, where he’d become a third-generation Bulldog, and he wanted to be a doctor.

Another part of our 2025 Impact Report highlights an exciting milestone: Mercy expanded our service area to include seven additional counties.

This growth means more of our underserved neighbors now have access to quality, whole-person healthcare. This means more opportunities for us to demonstrate and share the love of Jesus through compassionate care.

Nine members of our Mercy family spent last week serving in Honduras alongside Honduras International. From clinic days and construction projects to pouring concrete, praying with families, worshipping together, and simply showing up to serve. Every moment was an opportunity to share the love of Jesus.

We are so grateful for these staff and volunteers who stepped away from their daily routines to serve others with compassion and humility. The work they did matters, but the relationships built and prayers lifted may matter even more. 💙

Thank you for representing Mercy so well and for reminding us that caring for our neighbors reaches far beyond our own community.
