After more than two decades of service to Athens Wellness Clinic and our community, Paige Cummings has retired as Executive Director. Please peruse photos of Paige from her years of service and read below about the amazing impact she has had on our community.
Paige first joined the clinic in 2004 as a volunteer nurse, bringing with her years of experience in the U.S. Navy and the American Red Cross, where she specialized in medical disaster planning and education. By 2010, she stepped into the role of Executive Director, a position she held with unwavering dedication, vision, and compassion.
Under her leadership, the clinic expanded its services beyond primary care to include mental health, dental, vision, hepatitis C treatment, and substance use care, always at no cost to our uninsured neighbors. She built lasting relationships with partner organizations, secured vital funding, and worked tirelessly to ensure that Athens Wellness Clinic remained a trusted place for care, dignity, and hope.
Her commitment earned her statewide and national recognition, including being named a “Champion” by the Georgia Charitable Care Network and a “Nurse Hero” by the American Red Cross. But to those who knew her best, Paige’s true legacy is in the thousands of patients whose lives she touched, the volunteers she inspired, and the community she strengthened.
