Meet Libby: A proud Athens Wellness Clinic patient. When Libby noticed a lump in her breast, the diagnostic mammogram the clinic referred her to confirmed that she had breast cancer while experiencing homelessness. The clinic, alongside other local organizations, rallied behind Libby to help get her wrap around, whole person care. Libby is still battling, and largely credits the clinic with helping her access treatment and stability. We are so thankful for her!💙💚

Athens Wellness Clinic has a fully equipped, modern dental suite that we are hoping to use more consistently! To make that possible, we are looking to connect with additional dentists who may be interested in volunteering with us.

We are deeply grateful for the dentists who already serve our clinic. As patient need continues to grow, our goal is to have dental services available every Friday by broadening our pool of dental providers. We are so excited about our partnerships with the UGA Greek Community this past semester. Athens Wellness Clinic partnered with Alpha Gamma Delta to contribute to our cause and serve warm meals to hungry members of the Athens community. We are so grateful that Alpha Gam was the first Greek organization we were able to partner with. We also hosted percentage nights with Delta Phi Epsilon and Alpha Gamma Delta to raise funds for the clinic. Through their passion and dedication, we are strengthening our partnerships with a huge part of the UGA community, and we appreciate all of the hard work both chapters contributed. We are hoping to expand our Greek partnerships in the spring so please message us if your organization is interested!

This Giving Tuesday, we are beginning our Healthcare for the Holidays campaign by highlighting one of the most important services we provide. Each year, uninsured patients come to Athens Wellness Clinic with breast health concerns that would go untreated without our program. Your support helps us provide mammograms, PAP smears, women’s health exams, and the coordinated care that keeps our patients safe.

This season, we’re especially grateful for the legacy of Dr. Jimmy Morang. His compassion and generosity still shapes our clinic, and we continue to miss his presence. He is missed not only by his family and friends, but also by the entire community that suffered his loss.

Meet Alan: an Athens Wellness Clinic patient that was supported by the clinic after he had congestive heart failure. Along with our treatment, AWC referred Alan to the Good News Clinic. Through our conjoined efforts, Alan was able to get the help he needed. We are so grateful to assist in his recovery and help patients like Alan.
