Elizabeth Clark, Guthrie Lead Clinical Dietitian, talks about the benefits of fiber. Fiber keeps you feeling full and satisfied longer after eating. Aim for 25-35 grams of fiber per day unless you have been instructed to limit fiber by your doctor. Be sure to drink plenty of fluid (preferably water) to keep your digestive system running smoothly. Set a goal of at least 8 cups per day unless your doctor has instructed you to limit your fluid intake. A big moment for Guthrie Lourdes Hospital! đź’™

Last night, our nurses and leaders came together to kick off Lourdes Hospital's multi-year journey toward Pathway to Excellence designation — a national recognition for organizations that create an exceptional environment for nursing practice and patient care.

This milestone was made possible by a generous grant from the Cabrini Health Foundation We were honored to welcome foundation representatives Tuesday evening to celebrate alongside Guthrie President and CEO Dr. Edmund Sabanegh and Chief Nurse Executive Deb Raupers.

During the event, we highlighted some of our recent DAISY Foundation Award recipients and certified nurses, whose dedication and expertise are essential to our Pathway to Excellence journey.

Originally from Nigeria, Dr. Missih’s journey to Guthrie began with her medical training at Stony Brook, followed by a residency at Yale and a fellowship at SUNY Buffalo. She and her family moved to the area in 2016 and have loved calling it home ever since.

Recipe: Breakfast Burrito
Makes 6 servings

2 cups of vegetables, chopped small
9 eggs
ÂĽ cup milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
Salt as desired
½ cup shredded cheese
6 soft tortilla shells (preferably whole wheat)
Toppings as desired and based on what will go well with your vegetables
