Congratulations to Adam Barber, a security officer at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital, on receiving our April Spirit of Mercy Award!

Adam approaches every situation with responsibility and intention, using his strengths -- communication skills, empathy, and sound judgment -- to create a safer, more stable environment. He is widely trusted by staff, clinical teams, and patients because he communicates openly, follows procedures with transparency, and always does what is right even when it is difficult. A recent example was when a troubled young person came to us for care. Adam went above and beyond to be present, listen without judgment, and make a real difference in this person’s life. His actions reflect a character rooted in honesty and genuine care.
