Athens Medical Group would like to wish all our patients and friends a happy, healthy, and safe New Year! Our office will be closed today, but will reopen on Friday January 2nd from 8:30am until noon. We look forward to seeing you all in 2026!

The doctors, nurses, and staff of AMG would like to wish all of our friends and patients a very Merry Christmas filled with lots of holiday cheer and quality time with the ones who mean the most to them! Our office will be closed Wednesday, December 24th and Thursday, December 25th so that our staff may enjoy the holiday with their families as well. The office will open back up on Friday, December 26th from 8:30AM until noon.

The staff and providers of AMG would like to wish you all a safe and happy Thanksgiving surrounded by those you are thankful for! Our office will be closed on Thursday, November 27th and Friday, November 28th so that all our employees can celebrate with their families. We will reopen at 8:30am on Monday, December 1st.

November 10th is world immunization day! We would like to take this opportunity to remind our patients if you haven’t had your flu shot this year to stop by or call the office and let us help make sure you are ready to fight the flu , as the weather starts getting colder! Additionally, if you are unsure if you are up to date on your other vaccines, such as shingles and pneumonia, please call the office and ask to speak to our vaccine nurse, Marty today!

November 3-9 is National Radiologic Technology Week, which recognizes the important work of medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals in the medical field. It also commemorates the discovery of the x-ray by Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, a German engineer and physicist on November 8, 1895. We are sure if you’ve had to have an X-ray at our office, you are just as thankful for our amazing X-Ray techs as we are! Rachel is our Certified Radiologic Technologist and Courtney is our Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist. If you happen to see either of these ladies this week make sure to tell them Happy Radiologic Technology week! 🩻

In October we wear pink for breast cancer awareness! We would like to take this opportunity to show our support to all our family members, friends, patients, and colleagues, who have battled or are currently battling this awful cancer. We also share in the sadness of those who have lost loved ones to it. We would like to share these statistics in hopes it remind you that early detection is key! If you are due for your mammogram let us help you get that scheduled!

🩷1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.

🩷 About 310,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in U.S. women this year.

🩷 2,800 men in the U.S. are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer annually
- while it is rare, it does happens.

🩷 When detected early and still localized, the 5-year survival rate is 99%.

🩷 Mammograms can often detect cancer up to two years before a lump can be felt.
