Lymphatic drainage, a gentle technique, may offer benefits for individuals with autoimmune diseases by improving lymphatic function, potentially reducing inflammation and modulating the immune system.

While more research is needed, existing evidence suggests lymphatic dysfunction may contribute to autoimmune disease, particularly in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and scleroderma.

Manual lymphatic drainage could help improve lymphatic flow, potentially aiding in the clearance of fluid and inflammatory cells from tissues.

Elaboration:
Autoimmune diseases and lymphatic dysfunction:

The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in immune function and fluid balance.

In autoimmune diseases, where the immune system mistakenly attacks the body's own tissues, the lymphatic system may be dysregulated, contributing to inflammation and disease progression.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD):
MLD is a gentle massage technique that focuses on the lymphatic system. It involves using light, circular, and rhythmic movements to stimulate lymphatic flow.

Potential benefits for autoimmune conditions:
Reducing inflammation: MLD may improve the clearance of fluid and inflammatory cells from tissues, potentially reducing inflammation and swelling in areas affected by autoimmune diseases.

Modulating immune responses: By stimulating lymphatic flow, MLD may also impact immune cell activity, potentially helping to regulate autoimmune responses and reduce their severity.

Improving overall health: MLD can be part of a holistic treatment plan to improve overall health and well-being, as lymphatic dysfunction can have broader effects on the body.

I offer manual lymphatic drainage in different durations 👇

30 minutes - $55
45 minutes - $70
Concentrates on one area

60 minutes - $90
90 minutes - $125

For someone with an autoimmune condition:

Their immune system might be too active in certain areas
This can cause puffiness, soreness, or inflammation
When the lymph flows better, it can help the body feel less tight or swollen
It's not a cure, but it can be one of the things that helps the body feel calmer.

One of tbe questions i get a lot is what in the world is lymph, what does it do???

What is lymph!!!!

Lymph is a clear, watery fluid that circulates through the lymphatic system.

It plays a crucial role in the body's immune system and waste removal.

Lymph contains:
White blood cells, particularly lymphocytes, Water, Proteins, Minerals, and Fats.

Lympha function is draining tissue fluid:

Lymph collects excess fluid, proteins, and waste products from tissues and returns them to the bloodstream.

Transporting immune cells:

Lymphocytes in lymph help fight infections and remove damaged cells.

How is lymph filtered out of the body???

Lymph nodes, which are small bean-shaped organs, filter lymph and remove harmful substances such as bacteria and viruses.

The lymphatic system consists of:

Lymph vessels:
Thin, tube-like structures that carry lymph.

Lymph nodes: Bean-shaped organs that filter lymph.

Spleen: An organ that filters lymph and produces immune cells.

Thymus: An organ that develops and matures lymphocytes.

Lymph is a fluid that circulates through the lymphatic system, carrying immune cells and waste products while helping to maintain fluid balance and protect the body from infections

I offer manual lymphatic drainage sessions
Gentle, rhythmic movements to improve circulation and release toxins that can accumulate in your lymphatic tissue.

Tok Pua Lai Sen = Tapping to chase energy lines

Tok is a verb that means to hammer or apply force

Sen lines that energy follows as it flows through the body

Tok Sen is a healing practice which evolved in northern Thailand among the spiritual healers native to that region. It has now become part of the larger Thai medicine tradition

It is used to treat sore muscles, joint pain, pinched nerves, stiffness and any condition associated with specific Sen lines

Tok Sen is beneficial in accessing and treating the deeper levels of the body, traveling through the dermis and subcutaneous tissue along the sen lines and down to the bones and organs

There are multiple theories as to why Tok Sen works.

It’s suggested that the vibration of the tapping softens tissues, while the consistent sound and feel of the rhythm can activate the calm of the parasympathetic nervous system

Book a massage with me today to experience the fascinating technique of Tok Sen ⚒️

Cosmetic surgeries, particularly those involving liposuction, body contouring, and facial procedures, can disrupt the lymphatic system, potentially leading to lymphedema.

This disruption can result in fluid buildup (edema), swelling, and discomfort, affecting healing and potentially impacting quality of life.

Lymphatic drainage therapy, including manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), is often used to help manage these effects and promote faster recovery.

• Surgical procedures, especially those that involve tissue manipulation or removal, can damage or disrupt lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes. This disruption can impede the normal flow of lymph fluid, leading to its accumulation in the affected tissues

• Dermal fillers, while not surgical procedures, can also impact the lymphatic system. Hyaluronic acid, a common filler component, may block lymphatic channels, potentially affecting the immune system.

Lymphedema, a condition characterized by swelling due to lymph fluid buildup.

While primary lymphedema (caused by genetic factors) is rare, secondary lymphedema (caused by surgical procedures or other trauma) is more common, particularly after procedures like liposuction, abdominoplasty, and facial surgery

12/12/2025

Fluid in the ear, also known as middle ear effusion or glue ear, is a buildup of fluid behind the eardrum, often after an ear infection or cold. It's common, especially in children, and usually clears up on its own within a few months. However, if it persists, it can lead to hearing loss and other complications.

What causes fluid in the ear?

Eustachian tube blockage:
The Eustachian tube connects the middle ear to the back of the nose and throat, helping to regulate pressure and drain fluid. When this tube is blocked, fluid can build up.

Ear infections:
Otitis media (ear infection) can cause fluid to accumulate in the middle ear.

Colds and allergies:
These can also lead to Eustachian tube blockage and fluid buildup.

Other factors:
Cleft palate and exposure to cigarette smoke can also increase the risk of fluid in the ear.

This is usually treated with antibiotics and steroids if it doesn’t clear up you may have to have surgery to put tubes in your ears 👂

There is an alternative treatment

Lymphatic drainage techniques can help relieve fluid buildup in the ears by promoting the movement of lymphatic fluid, which helps drain excess fluid and reduce congestion.

Lymphatic Drainage Techniques for Ear Fluid:

1. Deep Breathing:
Start with deep belly breaths to stimulate the lymphatic system.

2. Neck Lymph Node Stimulation:
Gently massage the lymph nodes at the base of the neck above the collarbone, moving from the base of the ear towards the collarbone.

3. Ear and Jawline Massage:
Massage the area behind and around the earlobes, as well as the jawline, to help open up the Eustachian tubes and promote drainage.

4. Facial Lymphatic Drainage:
Gently massage from the center of the face outwards towards the ears and down the neck, following the direction of lymphatic flow.

5. Clear the Head:
Use your fingers to gently massage behind the ears and down the neck, guiding the fluid towards the lymph nodes at the base of the neck.

Or you can book a 30 minute session with me!

➡️ This week I worked with a client who has been struggling for months; they have undergone several doses of antibiotics. They were advised by a D.O. to try MLD before seeing a ENT - ENT will lead to surgery for sure per the D.O.

Immediately after one treatment they noticed a difference.

While still on the table receiving the second treatment they said their left ear has not been this clear in MONTHS.

We have discussed a treatment plan; they will be seen twice a week for 3 weeks and then reassess the situation at that time.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage may help!

Gentle, rhythmic movements to improve circulation and release toxins that can accumulate in your lymphatic tissue.

It also promotes healing of scar tissue and is often recommended as part of post-surgical recovery. ❤️‍🩹

Your lymphatic system
is key to your overall health. 🔑

Among other things, it produces monocytes and lymphocytes, the cells that are a part of your immune system.

Lymph vessels, bundles of cells known as lymph nodes, and certain organs make up your lymphatic system, and lymph fluid runs through it. 🧬

Lymphatic fluid serves two functions, both delivering nutrients to cells, and clearing metabolic waste and foreign objects from them. 💭

When lymph fluid isn’t properly circulating through your system, your lymph nodes and surrounding tissue may become swollen, and your body becomes more susceptible to infection. 🦠

I came out from the grocery store to see something missing off my car. 🚙

While I was grocery shopping, someone took the lens cover off both of my brake light assemblies

Unfortunately Mini does not offer the lens replacement. I had to purchase two new brake light assemblies.

This action simply put, broke my heart
This random act of vandalism cost me $300

I am replacing with aftermarket because the Mini light assembly is running $300 each 🥴

I am so grateful that I had the funds to place the order for a new set there was certainly a time in my life that I would not have been able to have done that

Of course, I would much rather have spent that money on something for my family during the holiday

Mimi gets new brake lights this Christmas 🎄

Be kind 🫶🏽

“Why Do I Feel So Emotional After Lymph Drainage?”

The Healing Connection Between
Body, Mind, and Heart

Have you ever found yourself tearing up unexpectedly after a lymphatic drainage session—feeling lighter in your body, but heavier with emotion?

You’re not alone.

This experience is far more common than people realize. In fact, many clients describe it as a release, a relief, or even a resurrection of feelings long buried.

But why does this happen?
And what’s the science behind this deeply emotional response?

Let’s gently unpack what your body might be trying to tell you. 💧

🌿 The Lymphatic System:
Your Inner River of Release

The lymphatic system is not just a drainage network for physical toxins—it’s also intricately woven into your immune system, nervous system, and emotional wellbeing.

Unlike the cardiovascular system, it has no pump of its own. It relies on breath, movement, and manual support (like lymphatic drainage therapy) to flow.

When stagnation sets in—due to stress, inflammation, trauma, or illness—the lymph fluid can build up, contributing to swelling, fatigue, brain fog, and even a vague sense of emotional heaviness.

This is because lymph carries more than waste; it also transports immune cells, inflammatory markers, and interstitial hormones, including those that interact with mood regulation.

🧠 Emotions and the Nervous System:
The Vagus Nerve Connection

Here’s where it gets fascinating.

The lymphatic system and the vagus nerve—the main parasympathetic nerve—are closely intertwined.

The vagus nerve plays a vital role in calming the body, slowing the heart rate, and processing emotional regulation.

Manual lymphatic drainage stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system through gentle rhythmic touch, especially around the neck and abdominal area where the vagus nerve is most accessible.

This soothing stimulation often shifts the body from “fight or flight” into “rest and digest”—a deeply restorative state. But once the body feels safe again, emotions that were stored or suppressed during periods of chronic stress may begin to surface.

Suddenly, the body has permission to feel again.

💧 Cellular Memory and Somatic Release

There’s a growing field of research called psychoneuroimmunology, which explores how emotions are not just “in your head,” but imprinted on your cells.

Chronic stress and trauma often live in the body—especially in the fascia, connective tissue, and yes, even the lymphatic vessels.

When lymphatic flow is restored and the fascia begins to soften, clients may experience what’s called somatic emotional release—a spontaneous release of stored feelings.

It may show up as tears, laughter, waves of sadness, or even unexpected memories.

This is not regression—it’s resolution.

🌺 Detox Is Emotional Too

We often speak of detox in physical terms—sweating, peeing, cleansing—but the emotional body also detoxes.

After a session, people may feel lighter, calmer, more connected to themselves.

Others may feel temporarily raw, tender, or unexpectedly emotional.

This isn’t a “side effect”—it’s a sign of healing.

As inflammatory mediators decrease and blood and lymph circulation improve, your brain receives better oxygenation and neurotransmitter balance.

This can trigger shifts in emotional state, sometimes surfacing tears as part of the recalibration process.

🤍 Gentle Permission to Heal

So if you’ve ever cried after lymph drainage—or felt a surge of grief, joy, or vulnerability—know this: it’s not weakness.

It’s wisdom.

Your body is wise enough to protect you when you’re overwhelmed… and loving enough to release when you’re ready.

Emotional release is not just allowed during healing—it’s often essential.

As the body lets go of what it no longer needs, the soul exhales too. 🌬️

✨ What Can You Do After an Emotional Release?

• Drink plenty of water to support detox and cellular hydration

• Rest—emotions are energy, and release requires recovery

• Journal or pray—create space to listen to what your body revealed

• Talk to a safe person or your lymphatic therapist—processing helps

• Avoid judging yourself—healing is not always linear, and that’s okay

“Tears are not the mark of weakness, but of transformation.

When the body lets go, the heart can begin again.” 💗

So the next time emotion rises after a session, embrace it as sacred evidence of restoration.

Your lymphatic system isn’t just draining toxins—it’s clearing space for peace, presence, and profound inner renewal.

Lymphatic drainage, particularly manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), can help regulate the "fight or flight" response by promoting relaxation and stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system.

It can also help reduce stress hormones like cortisol, further calming the body.

How Lymphatic Drainage Relates to the Fight or Flight Response:

Stress Reduction:
When we experience stress, the sympathetic nervous system (responsible for the "fight or flight" response) is activated, releasing hormones like cortisol. Manual lymphatic drainage can help reduce cortisol levels, thereby decreasing the stress response.

Parasympathetic Activation:
MLD can promote relaxation and stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the "rest and digest" response. This can help shift the body out of the "fight or flight" mode.

Improved Lymphatic Flow:
The lymphatic system plays a role in immune function and waste removal. When lymphatic flow is disrupted (e.g., by stress), it can impact the body's ability to cope with stress. Manual lymphatic drainage can improve lymphatic flow, potentially helping the body manage stress more effectively.

Benefits of Lymphatic Drainage for Fight or Flight:

Reduced Anxiety and Stress:
By promoting relaxation and calming the nervous system, MLD can help reduce anxiety and overall stress levels.

Improved Sleep:
Some individuals report feeling deeper sleep after MLD, possibly due to the calming effect on the nervous system.

Pain Relief:
MLD can help reduce pain by removing waste products and inflammatory mediators from the tissues.

Overall Well-being:
By promoting relaxation and reducing stress, MLD can contribute to overall physical and emotional well-being.
