🚨 URGENT CALL TO ACTION IN GEORGIA 🚨

We need your help in calling state legislators to ask them to VOTE NO ON SB 33 at the meeting tomorrow morning!

The intention of SB 33 is to copy the language of the potential federal h**p ban. This would effectively kill 95% of the industry here in Georgia.

If you or someone you know uses h**p products, now is the time to fight for them! We are asking you to call the chairman of the Georgia House Agriculture Committee and the author of SB 33 to state your opposition (see comments for contact information)

We plan to attend the hearing tomorrow and we will keep you updated.

Classic Citiva is screaming 🦞CLAWS UP🦞 this weekend!

We are so proud to be in our second year of sponsoring the Athens Rock Lobsters. Alan and Todd have always been huge ice hockey fans (they're from the north so I think it's a requirement there). So when we got a chance to sponsor an Athens ice hockey team, we jumped at it!

Between our logo on the ice, our commercial playing during games at the arena, and the team giving us an opportunity to educate them about the plant, this has been a real dream come true for us. We hope to continue this partnership for a long time 💚

How can you tell that a product is ✨so fresh and so clean✨?

Look for a QR code on the packaging and scan it! It should pull up a multi-page document called a certificate of analysis (or CoA for short) from a reputable, 3rd party lab 🔬📄

From there, you can see:

🌱 Potency: This measures how strong the product is and whether it is compliant
🌱 Residual Solvents: Checks for leftover chemicals used in extraction processes
🌱 Pesticides: Makes sure no harmful pesticides are present beyond legal limits
🌱 Mycotoxins: Detects toxic compounds produced by molds
🌱 Heavy Metals: Measures things like lead, mercury, and arsenic
🌱 Microbials: Tests for bacteria, mold, and yeast that could make products unsafe

If a product fails any of these, it means that it is not state compliant and could be harmful if consumed.

This is an easy way to tell if a product is worth buying or if you should skip it. If you ever have a question on how to read a CoA (even if it's not from one of our products), bring it into the shop and we'd be happy to look over it with you 🤓

For the 5th year in a row, y'all have chosen Classic Citiva as your favorite place to buy CBD and h**p products in Athens 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

It's an honor and a privilege to get to serve the community with quality h**p products and plant education. It's also a beautiful reminder of why we do this in light of the ugly politics of it all.

One day, we are humbled by an award from our community only to have to fight for the right to continue existing the next. Politicians at the state and federal levels are out of touch and this makes that even more glaringly obvious.

Our community has spoken. Our community appreciates having small businesses like ours and the ability to access h**p products like we provide.

That's why this is so much more than an award to us. It's confirmation that this is what our community wants despite the rhetoric that politicians push.

This November 12 (11/12), up to 95% of h**p products will effectively be banned, putting local businesses, jobs, and consumer access at risk.

H**p is not an abstract policy issue — it’s how we employ people, support local families, and contribute to our local economy. If these changes move forward, businesses like ours could face significant disruption or closure.

These are real consequences for our employees, customers, and other businesses in our community. Decisions made in Washington right now will determine whether companies like ours can continue operating and serving the people who rely on us.

We've been going to the state capitol quite a bit this session. There are both good bills and bad bills that we're watching. If you would like to help us advocate for the plant at the capitol, but you don't know how or where to start, this is for you!

Note that a temporary drop-in warming site will be available at Athens First United Methodist Church (327 N. Lumpkin Street) this evening (Sun., Feb. 22) from 8:00 PM – 9:00 AM tomorrow morning (Mon., Feb. 23). It is not an overnight sleeping shelter, but will have warming resources and donated goods available.
