Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy practices, with a focus on delivering comprehensive patient care across diverse settings. As a vital member of the rehabilitation team, you will assist licensed physical therapists in implementing treatment plans, ensuring optimal recovery outcomes for patients of all ages. Responsibilities
Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
Implement therapeutic interventions including trigger point therapy, manual therapy, and modalities to promote healing and pain relief.
Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatments accurately in accordance with clinical protocols.
Provide patient education on exercises, postural techniques, and injury prevention strategies to support ongoing recovery.
Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or outpatient services through appropriate guidance and follow-up recommendations.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and therapists to ensure coordinated patient care across inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facility settings.
Stay current with advancements in physiotherapy techniques and medical terminology to enhance treatment efficacy.
Qualifications
Certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program; licensure or registration as required by state or local regulations.
Proven experience working in inpatient settings such as skilled nursing facilities or acute care units; outpatient clinic experience is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practices.
Hands-on experience with various therapeutic techniques including trigger point therapy and physiotherapy modalities.
Familiarity with care planning processes for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and sports-related injuries.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Prior experience in home health environments or outpatient clinics is preferred but not mandatory.
