Excited to open (these) doors next week for Stillwell Athens IOP! šŸ’«

College and life after college can be amazing… and also really hard to navigate. Our goal is simple: create a place where students (and young adults beyond campus) can get real mental health support without having to put their lives on hold.

More connection, more tools, less suffering alone. Athens — we’re ready for you!🐾

Many college students who are struggling don’t show up in obvious crisis. More often, parents notice quieter but steady changes—slipping grades, avoidance, irritability, pulling away, or feeling overwhelmed.

Young adulthood is a complex developmental stage. Executive functioning is still coming online, identity is taking shape, and stress tolerance is being tested daily. When a student’s academic, emotional, and social functioning all start to dip, early support can prevent more serious disruption.

If you’re seeing changes that worry you, you don’t have to wait for failure, withdrawal, or hospitalization to get guidance.

Stillwell provides specialized mental health care for young adults, including executive functioning support and structured outpatient services that fit the realities of college life.

At Stillwell Athens, we think about change as a process, not an overnight fix. Our Intensive Outpatient Program follows a clear clinical roadmap that begins with creating safety and understanding your story, then moves toward building practical skills, strengthening mind and body awareness, and fostering real connection with others. Along the way, we help participants reframe life’s transitions with more compassion and confidence, so they leave not just feeling better, but feeling more capable and supported in everyday life. If you or someone you love could use extra support during this season, we’re here.

We see so many students in Athens trying to push through anxiety, burnout, depression, or big life transitions on their own. Sometimes weekly therapy isn’t quite enough, but stepping away from school doesn’t feel right either.

That’s where Stillwell IOP can help.

Through Stillwell’s IOP, young adults will confidently navigate life’s challenges with resilience, clarity, and purpose. Our approach will redefine mental health care by integrating it seamlessly into real life, by creating a culture that embraces growth, connection, and wellness without stigma.

Stillwell IOP: Now open for enrollment!

Our clinical roadmap at Stillwell IOP is designed to support people through periods of transition without putting life on hold. We begin by creating safety and clarity around diagnosis, lived experience, and strengths, while helping clients reframe challenges as meaningful turning points rather than personal failures.

As treatment continues, we focus on building practical life skills, coping strategies, and mind body awareness, alongside authentic connection within a supportive group. The work culminates in greater confidence, resilience, and readiness for what comes next, supporting sustainable growth beyond therapy.

✨ Now Opening Enrollment | February 2026 ✨

We’re excited to share that Stillwell Athens will be opening enrollment in February for our Adult Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) (ages 18+), led by our incredible Directors Andi Dangerfield and Elizabeth Seib.

Stillwell Athens IOP is designed for adults who need more support than weekly therapy, but don’t want to step away from work, school, or daily life. It’s an ideal option for college students and young professionals who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or stuck—and would benefit from added structure, connection, and clinical support while staying engaged in their responsibilities.

For providers: our program can work adjunctively alongside individual therapy, offering additional group, community, and psychiatric support.

Program Highlights:
• 10–15 hours/week of clinical care
• Group therapy + individual therapy
• Psychiatric support
• Morning & early evening options to accommodate school/work schedules
• Conveniently located near UGA’s campus on Baxter St.
• We bill insurance as an out-of-network facility and help clients navigate benefits
• Optional supplemental services including executive function & life skills coaching, nutrition support, parent/family coaching, and more
