Today marks one year without you, Barbara.

There isn’t a single day that goes by where we don’t feel your absence in this space. The office isn’t the same without your presence, your warmth, or your voice, especially the sound of you singing along to songs, completely off-key and completely unapologetic. You always laughed it off, saying you couldn’t carry a tune, but to us, those moments carried so much more. They carried joy. They carried comfort. They carried you.

You were the heart of this office in ways that can never truly be replaced. You kept everything running, but more importantly, you kept all of us grounded. You made stressful days feel manageable, hard moments feel lighter, and ordinary days feel special just by being yourself. You didn’t just do your job, you cared deeply about every single one of us, and we felt that every day.

You believed in us, encouraged us, and stood beside us through every high and low. You were someone we could lean on, laugh with, and trust completely. The lessons you taught us weren’t just about work, they were about kindness, patience, resilience, and showing up for people in the ways that matter most.

Even a year later, we still find ourselves thinking of you in the quiet moments, wishing we could hear your voice one more time, hear you sing one more song, and see your smile walking through the door. Though you’re no longer physically here, your presence lives on in everything we do. In the way we support each other. In the way we care for our clients. In the way we carry forward the love and strength you gave us.
