Taking time to highlight Trisha! ✨🌅
Trisha is one of our counselors and has also served as a case manager in day services. As a longtime GAAMHA employee, she truly embodies the spirit of redefining community services.
She brings wit, enthusiasm, wisdom, and so much fun to Sunrise each and every day. Her dedication to the people we serve and the energy she brings to our team make a lasting impact, and we are so grateful to have her as part of Sunrise Ridge! Check out a little Q&A 🙂
🌟What impact do you hope to make in your role?
I aim to create a supportive, stigma‑free environment in which the women we serve feel respected, valued, and heard. I want the women we serve to feel empowered in their recovery and recognize their personal strengths as they develop the tools they need to take their lives back.
⭐️What is your role and what does a typical day look like for you?
As a Counselor at Sunrise Ridge, I begin each day by welcoming and engaging with our residents. I conduct individual sessions with the women on my caseload to support them in achieving their treatment goals and facilitate clinical groups that allow me to build strong relationships with residents over time. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I value the meaningful, day‑to‑day interactions with both residents and staff.
⭐️What makes our workplace unique?
Each team member at Sunrise Ridge is here for the same reason: we want to make a difference. When challenges arise, it's never "That won't work." It's "how can we make this work for everyone involved?" The staff feel supported by each other which makes supporting our residents second nature.
⭐️Favorite movie, show, or book right now?
The Great British Baking Show. It's somehow calming and chaotic at the same time, an absolute gem of a show.
⭐️Why is this field important?
Every person you'll ever meet is someone's child, parent, or friend. Addiction can happen to anyone at any time, and everyone deserves the opportunity to become the best version of themselves. This field gives them the tools to do that and shows them they don't have to do it alone.
