Back from my ski trip, a different kind of ‘lift’ today. But if you know me, you know I probably prefer a scalpel to ski poles anyway.

Quick break between runs to talk about something important, sunscreen.

Cold weather and snow don’t mean the sun isn’t doing damage. In fact, the reflection off the snow can make UV exposure even stronger.

Whether you’re on the slopes, at the beach, or just out for the day, protecting your skin should always be part of the routine.

A little sunscreen now goes a long way later.

Rhinoplasty for this 34-year-old patient, shown one month after surgery.

At this stage, there is still some swelling, especially around the tip, but the structure and balance are already taking shape. Rhinoplasty results continue to refine over time as healing progresses.

Hearing that a result is exactly what someone wanted is always the goal.

This patient came to me for a septorhinoplasty, and experiences like this are a reminder of why taking the time to listen, explain, and plan carefully matters so much. Natural results, clear communication, and trust throughout the process make all the difference.

I’m grateful for the kind words and for the trust placed in me and my team. Full review with link in bio.

This time of year is perfect for Lumenis ActiveFX.

It’s an ablative fractional CO₂ laser I perform right in the office with numbing cream and local anesthesia, with optional light sedation if needed. Downtime is about a week, discomfort is minimal, and the skin just keeps getting better as it heals.

And yes, those shiny metal pieces you see in the video are corneal shields. Think of them as tiny superhero armor for your eyes. They’re basically metal contact lenses used for laser safety. We place numbing drops first, so they’re painless to insert and keep your eyes fully protected throughout the treatment. Cool right?

If you’ve been thinking about refreshing your skin, this is one of my favorite times of year to do it.

Do you need a drain after facelift surgery?

Drains help reduce fluid buildup, swelling, and bruising early on, which makes recovery smoother and faster. They’re simple, temporary, and removed quickly. Pain-free!

Have a watch, and I’ll explain when drains are used and why they can actually help.

If it looks pulled, it’s wrong.

When I perform a facelift, my focus is on the midface, jawline, and neck, lifting the deeper layers with precision so the result looks natural, not tight. Initial recovery is about two weeks, and the results continue to mature over time.

Incisions are carefully placed and hidden in the natural creases around the ear. The goal is never to look different; it’s to look like a younger, more refreshed version of yourself.

Chin implant for this 25-year-old patient, shown one month after surgery.

By strengthening the chin, I was able to improve balance and definition in the lower face while keeping everything natural and proportionate. Small changes can make a big difference when they’re done thoughtfully.

This kind of technique can completely change a facial profile.

There’s been a lot of conversation around Mandy Moore’s appearance lately. Here’s my perspective from a facial plastic surgeon’s point of view, and why it’s important not to jump to conclusions.
