We are so excited to announce ✨Levi✨ as our 2026 Teen Honoree at the Walk to Cure Arthritis on Saturday, May 2nd at Fenton in Cary, NC!

Levi is a bright and active 13-year-old who loves staying busy and having fun. He loves swimming and playing soccer with his brother, and he has a strong passion for music. Levi plays the clarinet in his school band and also performs both clarinet and piano with his family at church. Levi is also part of his middle school esports team, bringing his competitive and creative spirit to gaming.

Levi was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis, when he was 7 years old, though he had been experiencing symptoms for several years before finally being diagnosed. Since then, he’s tried many different medications, some didn’t work well for him, and others caused unwanted side effects. Despite these challenges, Levi has continued to stay positive and keep doing the things he loves.

Levi currently receives infusions that help keep his arthritis under control, allowing him to stay active in the activities he loves. Even with the ups and downs of living with arthritis, he continues to show incredible resilience and a positive spirit.

Levi is honored to share his story as the Teen Honoree and help raise awareness for kids living with arthritis! To support Levi, you can join and/or donate to his team, Levi's Legion: https://events.arthritis.org/teams/40623

Drum roll please... we are thrilled to announce ✨Penelope✨ as our 2026 Youth Honoree at the Walk to Cure Arthritis on Saturday, May 2nd at Fenton in Cary, NC!

Penelope is a funny, silly, adventurous and brave 2 year old. She loves to read, draw, climb and go to ballet! In December of 2024, her family noticed that Penelope wouldn’t want to walk in the mornings and that her knee was swollen and warm. After a few appointments and different uses, Penelope was diagnosed with Juvenile arthritis in February at 21 months old. Her family was stunned, as they didn’t even know this was an option for a child so young.

Thankfully, she responded wonderfully to a steroid injection and her new medication! She has been a completely different kid since her diagnosis and treatment. She became fearless and curious, and she hasn’t stopped running since her pain has faded.
Even with all the appointments, injections, and blood draws, she continues to be a brave and happy two year old. She hasn’t let anything slow her down.

Penelope is excited to be this year’s Youth Honoree at the Walk to Cure Arthritis! To support Penelope, you can join and/or donate to her team, Penelope’s Pals: https://events.arthritis.org/teams/40505
