Some days I feel like I’m crushing it as a business owner and Mom… other days I’m just trying to remember if I ate lunch. Can you relate? 😂
With two kids, a third on the way, a business to run, and a husband who cheers me on every step — I’ve had to learn a few lessons along the way:
1. Presence beats perfection. If I’m home, I’m home. If I’m at work, I’m all in. Whenever I try to do both at the same time- I feel my patience decreasing and productivity impacted.
2. It’s okay to not be great at everything. The laundry might wait. The inbox might be full. Life goes on. My favorite quote has become “let the fires burn”. I’m never caught up and that’s okay.
3. Keep figuring out ways to fill your cup up and feel internally “balanced”. I can’t pour from an empty cup — even 10 quiet minutes in the morning, focusing on deep breathing in the carpool line, reading a few min of a fun book before bed, etc make a difference. Don’t let the external imbalances in your day to day throw off your internal balance
4. Laugh. Always. When things don’t go as planned (and they won’t), find the humor. Life is too short to take it too seriously. Laughter and FUN will always be my best medicine
5. Grace > Guilt. Every season asks for something different. We can’t do it all — but we can do what matters most.
YOU are crushing it up. Keep showing up as your best and that’s enough.
