Happy World Breastfeeding Week! August 1-7 According to the World Health Organization, it’s a time to recognize breastfeeding as a powerful foundation of lifelong health.

Under the banner of WHO’s ongoing Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures campaign, World Breastfeeding Week will shine a particular spotlight on the ongoing support women and babies need from the healthcare system through their breastfeeding journey.

“We met A’doisha and it was as if she and I had known each other for years. She was so easy to talk to. A gentle, kind, and intelligent spirit...
She understood the importance of the secondary parent or father during the pregnancy and postpartum, and did not only support me, but also my partner. I’m glad that she treated him with so much respect and poured into him just as she did for me...what I’m grateful for most with A’doisha and the Doula services is the flexibility and compassion given to me and my family. We signed a contract, not expecting the twists and turns that came with my pregnancy. But A’doisha was able to roll with the punches along with us as things kept changing. What was a very stressful and scary time, was less scary having A’doisha with us. The prenatal visits and post partum visits made the whole experience less stressful and I felt better prepared for parenthood.”
