Before we were therapists, we were just kids trying to keep our bangs straight and our emotions in check (one out of two isn’t bad). Come meet the mini versions of our team, would you have guessed who is who?!

Under construction — literally and figuratively! Our office is growing as we help you do the same. More offices, more space, same heart.

Big things are happening around here (and the dust proves it)! We’re expanding our suite to make room for more groups, more sessions, and more calm in the chaos. As we shift things around, eventually keep an eye out for signs directing you to our temporary waiting area. Same building, same team — just a little extra drywall between us and the finished product. We can’t wait to show you what’s coming!

Ever wonder what executive functioning actually is?? You’re not alone. Executive functioning is basically your brains project manager— sometimes crushing it, sometimes mysteriously on a coffee break. These “super powers” outline all the different skills that make up executive functioning, which one are you a pro at vs which one is your kryptonite??

EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING SUPER POWERS:
- Planning 🗓 (…when your plan is to make a plan)
- Organization 📦 (aka “strategically stacking piles”)
- Emotion regulation 😌 (deep breaths… or loudly sighing into the void)
- Working memory 🧠 (wait, what were we talking about?)
- Focus & attention 👀 (unless there’s a squirrel… or TikTok)
- Time management ⏳ (“I’ll start at 8:00… okay 8:15… okay tomorrow…”)
- Self monitoring 🪞 (“Why am I in the fridge right now?”)
- Task initiation 🚀 (the hardest part is… starting… and also finishing)

It’s back to school time in Atlanta! The perfect time to talk about one of our favorite topics. What is executive function? Basically, it’s the mental CEO your kid wishes they had—helping with things like starting homework without a meltdown, remembering the backpack and the lunchbox, and keeping track of assignments that aren’t due “for like, a whole week.”

If your child struggles with focus, organization, time management, or emotional regulation, it’s not about effort—it’s about skills that can be built with support.
School starts next week. If you’re already bracing yourself for forgotten folders, morning chaos, and homework battles, executive function coaching might be exactly what your family needs.
Let’s get ahead of it—DM us to learn more.

Does this sound familiar? Summer sneaks up on you or your child, there is talk about a job or internship or trips or camp but at the end of the day, nothing materializes. Each day is a battle to get them out of bed, to move their body, and in the end, summer is spent staring into a screen. If your adolescent or young adult is struggling with structure for this summer, we are excited to announce our Summer Structure Lab! A weekly group that meets to discuss structure options, create a plan for the summer and provide accountability week to week. This is a great oppourtunity for the parents to be able to step out of the role of enforcer and allow adolescents and young adults to take charge, with appropriate support for success. If your child needs help learning appropriate life skills for college, needs help brainstorming ideas, or just accountability around action steps, thats what this group is for! Check out our latest blog post on the impact of structure on mental health and to learn more about our summer lab

Our very own Ashlyn Ellington was a guest on the Never Alone podcast! Ashlyn discusses grief and managing tough emotions related both to pregnancy and infertility but also general life, as we all encounter grief and loss in one way or another. This is a personal interview and if you want to skip over Ashlyn’s story of loss, you can hear a majority of the content on managing emotions starting halfway through the episode! Link to podcast in bio or can be found on whatever platform you listen on under Never Alone Infertility.

Well we said we would post more in 2023 and I’m not sure that’s true… but we can’t help but finish out this year thinking about goals for 2024! There is something so special about the end of the year- both reflecting on goals we accomplished and celebrating the hard battles we survived. We also love the feeling of a fresh start, a whole new year to dream about. Where do you want to be a year from now? How can you start today? Or maybe tomorrow…
