I see you! Iā€™m right there in newborn life too!

I did a couple home visits last week with a parent who I had previously connected with prenatally. While I questioned my readiness to return to work, as well as my own confidence in overcoming my own breastfeeding challenges, I gave it a go! It turned out that doing a home visit with good for me! It helped me think about someone elseā€™s experience besides my own, and it also helped me return to feeling like the other sides of myself.

So for now, I want to share that Iā€™m GENTLY back! Iā€™m open for virtual consults and texting support. Iā€™m also available for SOME home visits with mutual connections, who are okay with me bringing my young baby. So far šŸ¤žšŸ», my ā€œbaby internā€ has understood her assignment and slept through home visits in her carrier. Share my contact info with a new or expecting parent who needs breastfeeding/bottle feeding support!

My baby arrived September 26th, 2025 at 9:22pm weighing 7lbs 14oz!

She took her sweet time choosing her birthday, arriving to her successful VBAC at 41+1 weeks after two days of labor. She knew best, because she arrived on her daddyā€™s birthday! Dad got the BEST birthday present ever!

We felt so supported by our birth team at Grady, including the midwives and doula support! The midwives were so patient in letting baby choose her birthday and helping me feel empowered and safe through prenatal care and birth. Kate was INVALUABLE and we literally couldnā€™t have done it without her!

Big brother is so smitten and happy that baby sister ā€œfinally, finally, finallyā€ here!

Even as a seasoned mom and IBCLC, these early days are hard but so, so sweet! šŸ«©šŸ˜“šŸ„°

Still digesting all the good learning last weekend at the Neonatal Touch & Massage Course by

This was one of my favorite courses Iā€™ve ever taken! Thanks for bringing it to us!

I have gotten to practice hands on with several NICU babies and Iā€™m looking forward to teaching parents this additional way to bond with their baby!

My family is growing and Iā€™ll be starting another breastfeeding journey of my own soon!

Since Grow Together Lactation is a bit of a one-woman show, I thought Iā€™d share my plans for current and future clients during this season.

I will longer accept new clients starting September 1st.

I will continue to provide follow up support for established families for as long as I can (due date is mid-September).

Families needing ongoing support as my leave begins will be referred to trusted lactation supporters with handoff communication.

As I feel ready, I will slowly start resuming to support families. I will listen to my body and my babyā€™s needs, but I anticipate this will be around November 1st. A newborn may or may not be in-tow for some of these sessions, if families consent.

Stay tuned on social media and email for updates on my return to this work.

In January, I plan for my baby to start childcare and I will have consistent availability to return to supporting families regularly. This is also when I plan to resume shifts at my hospital job.

Breastfeeding 101
(my 2-hour online self-paced breastedfeeding class) lives online and will always be available for late fall and winter parents looking for prenatal education!

I have mostly been quiet on my social media about my own baby on the way, but I look forward to sharing more about my pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding journey as I feel inspired!
