This isn’t one of my typical cases- an after hours work-in dog bite repair. This patient had an unfortunate incident- with loss of her critical mid upper lip. This could have been disfiguring. Reconstruction included restoration of her Cupid’s bow and vermillion border. She’s on track for a remarkable recovery!

Scalps can actually be challenging to repair- to avoid a divot. Especially with tight skin and no hair to camouflage. In this case, I went to my workhorse rhombic flap, which I find helps to increase movement and preserve contour. The photos on the right are the Mohs defect, the closure and about 6 weeks out-still slightly bumpy from the buried sutures. The bottom left is further out and almost invisible!
