Today is National Candy Cane Day, and we had so much fun using candy canes to stack marshmallows! We also enjoyed learning about the history of the candy cane and even tried some that weren't peppermint. We were happy to skip the more unusual flavors like pickle or rotisserie chicken candy canes — they can stay on the store shelf!

We had such a wonderful time celebrating Spirit Week! Take a look at all the fun photos! Videos are at the end.

Monday was Grinch Day, but we kicked off the day with a charming presentation by the Pebbles group from First Baptist Woodstock, including a lovely rendition of “O Holy Night” by a gentleman who is 100 years young! We wrapped up our day with a festive Grinch Social, featuring a fun green punch that wasn’t so Grinchy after all!

Tuesday was all about Christmas Characters and National Chocolate Covered Day. We had a blast dipping and creating our own delicious covered pretzels—and we couldn’t resist eating them!

Wednesday was Red vs Green Day or a creative combo of the two, followed by PJ Day on Thursday. Our highlight was making homemade Christmas cookies—because there’s nothing quite like the joy of baking and enjoying cookies straight from the oven!

Friday was National Ugly Sweater Day, but we all showed that ugly sweaters can be wonderfully colorful and fun! Elliot thrilled us with his cello playing, and we finished the week on a high note with a joyful song led by Rising Hills Church. What a fantastic way to end a busy and cheerful week!

This weekend we had one FULL of music! Saturday saw us off to Hickory Flat United Methodist Church for the Cherokee Chorale concert. Sunday, the community was filled with the ivory keys being played by tender fingers as the students of Laurie Koger came for their third recital with us, much to our delight. We then loaded up our bus again, this time heading to First Baptist Church Woodstock for their Sounds of the Season. We finished the night off with a delicious meal at Rally Point Grille/Semper Fi Bar and Grille. It was a late, cold night, but the bus was warm, and the residents were full of joy.

Yesterday was a lively day in our community! We kicked off with a fun-filled group session of our Digital Trivia game, followed by a heartwarming visit from Antioch Christian Church, which serenaded us with beautiful Christmas carols. Although we didn't capture photos, some of our memory care residents ventured out to enjoy the dazzling Christmas lights. We're truly embracing the season with all the colorful, melodic, and joyful ways to celebrate this special time of year!

Yesterday was a wonderful day! Our memory care residents had a delightful time creating Christmas crafts, and the Sunnyside Gospel duo blessed us with a beautiful Christmas concert. Our assisted living group enjoyed making Christmas cards. At the same time, our cottage residents had an engaging and informative talk with Jen from Cherokee County 911 and Lt. Mark from the Cherokee Fire Department. It was interesting learning about the vital role our dispatchers play in helping us. We wrapped up the day with a lively group game of Bingo, making it a truly memorable experience. What a fantastic day!

We had an unforgettable Christmas celebration yesterday with Piedmont Hospice & Palliative Care. A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful partners—Truwell Healthcare Group, Accent Care, FYZICAL, Wellway Transportation, Audiology On Call, and our charming traveling boutique featuring simple, tasteful, and paparazzi jewelry. The fabulous music from Joy and Jeff beautifully captured the season’s spirit. Our families, young and old, gathered together with excitement, eagerly awaiting Santa Claus. It truly was a joyful and memorable celebration!
