All are welcome to attend the Robert L. Mason Jr. Candlelight Memorial on Thursday, December 18 at 5:30pm to pay tribute to the 175 neighbors in Fulton and DeKalb counties who died while experiencing homelessness in 2025. We hope you will join us in song and prayer to honor and reflect upon the importance and dignity owed to every human life. Donations of gifts of warmth are still needed for distribution at the conclusion of the service, if you would like to make a contribution to someone in need. At Mercy Care, we believe compassion is a radical act in a world that often feels indifferent. Inspired by a speech given by Sister Sue Sanders in the AJC's Op-Ed last Sunday, Kathryn Lawler invites all of Atlanta to join in a Conspiracy of Compassion -- a revolution of kindness and care. This Conspiracy of Compassion is our way of saying that every gesture of care, every moment of empathy, adds to a powerful movement that transforms lives. This isn’t just about what we do—it’s about who Atlanta can be when we work together. We hope you'll read the article and get inspired to join the conspiracy! Today is Black Friday, one of the biggest shopping days of the year! Did you know, on average, shoppers save 37% on Black Friday specials? While you’re saving big, consider using a portion of those savings to make a life-changing impact. Winter is harsh for those experiencing homelessness or financial hardship. Imagine facing the cold without a coat, gloves, or even socks. For many Mercy Care clients, these essentials are not guaranteed but your generosity can change that.
Join our Gifts of Warmth campaign! Now through January 2026, we’re collecting new and gently used coats, hoodies, gloves, scarves, socks, and blankets for adults and children. Ways to Give:
Amazon Wishlist: https://a.co/dwZ4KtL
Drop-Off Locations:
Mercy Care Chamblee: Front desk & rear entrance
Mercy Care Decatur: Off Jackson Street (Ring bell at double doors)
THANK YOU for your generosity!
