Addison just went back to hopefully have her last procedure. It’s been a long two years so we are hoping this is it besides her yearly scans. 🙏🏼

Addison has had a rough week. She is having issues with her implants. Doctors are not really sure what to do because she has such a complex case. We are hoping they figure it out soon! So hard when you can’t fix things for your kids and take their pain away.
Thankful for Raiden who has been by her side since the beginning of all this. Y’all raised a good one Samantha Patton. 🙏🏼

Addison got to go back to school today!
Her appointment went good yesterday. They removed the splint and all the stitches. The skin graft is looking good so far. We will be seeing the prosthodontist in April.

Yesterday did not go as planned. We headed to Emory yesterday for Addisons post op appointment and got stuck in traffic. A truck had caught on fire so the traffic was at a standstill. I called the office to let them know that we would be late. As soon as we got around the accident I got a call from one of the residents asking how much longer before we got there. I told him we would be about 30 mins late and he told me that we would just have to reschedule. Of course I lost it. They must think their time is way more valuable than mine. We always wait longer than 30 mins in the room on the dr, one visit we drove to Emory only to be told when we got there that they forgot to call and tell us the Dr could not be there and they forgot to call and reschedule us. 😡 Her appointment is now on Monday which means she has to keep this splint in her mouth and can’t eat. She will be 13 days post op and they have not checked her graft. She is very frustrated and so ready for all this to be behind her. It is just really hard mentally on her. 💔 So, on Monday I might need someone to bail me out of jail.

Addison is at home and doing good. Pain has been manageable. She is just really uncomfortable with the splint in her mouth that is holding the skin graft in place. The donor site on her leg is doing good and not really painful unless she moves around a lot. She is on liquids only for 10 days and she is not happy about that. We go back to Emory on the 21st to check the graft.

Please keep Addison in your prayers this morning. She will be going back to the OR around 7:30 for her skin graft procedure.

We found out that Addisons last surgery was a fail 😢 She will now be having skin graft surgery. They will be using skin from her upper thigh. She will have a small incision under her jaw where they will be placing a wire that anchors the graft and splint inside her mouth. That will be in place for about two weeks. Will also be removing her wisdom teeth during this surgery. The hospital will be calling this week with a surgery date.
It’s heartbreaking to watch your kid have to go through this and not be able to fix it for them. I’m so ready for her to have this behind her. She is so strong and brave but I know it gets her down at times. Dealing with scars, nerve palsy, loosing your smile etc… Pray for her as we go into this next surgery ❤️

Addison just got back to the room. Surgery went great!!! We should be able to go home soon!

Lots of emotions this morning being back in the exact same place we were exactly a year ago. Round 2 surgery! Addison should be going back around 9:30 this morning. Prayers for her nerves. She is very anxious being back here. 🙏🏼
