Public Health Ethics Club (Emory University)

Public Health Ethics Club (Emory University) We aim to make ethics for those interested in public health accessible.

Among many other activities, we host the annual Global Health Life Raft Debate (www.LifeRaftDebate.blogspot.com) for the Emory Community. It is an exciting time for both public health (Rollins recently ranked one of the top 6 public health schools in U.S.) and ethics (Center for Ethics recently launched its MA in Bioethics program) at Emory University, whose vision statement speaks of an “ethically engaged” academic community. As such, and in anticipation of Emory’s Public Health Ethics dual-major program, we believe now is the time to create a club that can provide an outlet and opportunity for students to grapple with some of the worlds largest, most ethically complex and fascinating public health problems.
