As we conclude Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we proudly reflect on our annual Families First Pink Out Day, hosted last Thursday in honor of the countless lives impacted by breast cancer.

This special day brought together our staff, board, and honorary board members — all united in pink — to show our love, support, and solidarity for survivors, fighters, and families who have been touched by this disease.

At Families First, we believe in the power of community and compassion. Through moments like these, we are reminded of the strength that comes from standing together, lifting one another up, and continuing the fight for awareness, early detection, and hope💗

Great news! Families First is partnering with Grady Health System to bring healthcare directly to our community. 💚

Grady’s Mobile Primary Care Unit (MPCU) will be on-site at the Families First main office every third Wednesday of the month from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The MPCU is a fully equipped mobile clinic offering:
✅ Wellness exams
✅ Immunizations
✅ Chronic disease management
✅ Screenings and diagnostic testing

📍 Located in the front parking lot at Families First
👥 Services available for adults (18+) with insurance including Medicaid and Medicare (Kaiser not accepted)
🚶‍♀️ Walk-ins are welcome!

We’re excited to make healthcare more accessible for our community — one visit at a time.

Today, Families First joined Kroger and U.S. Hunger for Atlanta Community Day!

This incredible event brought together Kroger associates and community members to pack and distribute 1 million nutritious meals for local families in need — a powerful demonstration of what happens when communities unite in service.

We were proud to give back alongside Kroger, a valued partner who has supported many Families First initiatives, including this year’s Back-to-School Bash. Together, we’re helping to ensure that Atlanta families have the resources they need to thrive.

Last Monday, our CEO, Paula Moody, was invited to participate in the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Community Conditions Roundtable Panel. The event brought together six nonprofit leaders from across Atlanta to discuss the economic realities facing the communities they serve, the current operating environment for social service organizations, and other critical topics shaping our sector.
