Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities

Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities DBHDD was created to provide a network of support for citizens with mental health & IDD challenges.

Created by the Governor and General Assembly in 2009, the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) and its network of community providers offer treatment and support services to help people with behavioral health challenges achieve recovery by focusing on their strengths. Through uniquely tailored supports and services, we help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities attain independence and lead meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Great news from a community provider helping Georgia moms find recovery! At Breakthru House, moms don’t have to choose between healing and family—they can do both. In the DeKalb County-area, this recovery program gives women a safe place to get treatment while keeping their children close.

We are proud to partner with Breakthru House and so many dedicated providers that make family-centered recovery possible.

Check out this story about how moms in Georgia are finding recovery at Breakthru House:

The Breakthru House, a Decatur addiction treatment center, is filling a critical gap for mothers in recovery by allowing them to stay with their young children—removing one of the biggest barriers to getting help.

A team looks out for its teammates.

That was the message today at the College Football Hall of Fame, where Commissioner Tanner and industry leaders met to tackle the mental health crisis in construction.

Just like on a job site, safety is a team effort. Mental health is no different. It's time to look out for our crew, break the silence, and make it okay to ask for help.

Help is always on the available. Call or text 988.

Visit 988ga.org/construction to get information about 988 for your job site.
