We were honored to attend the North Springs High School Partnership Appreciation Luncheon and celebrate the strong collaboration between community partners who are working to support students.

Key Counseling Group is proud to partner with North Springs High School to provide mental health groups, trainings, and additional support services for students. We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Maia Smith, School Social Worker, and Mr. Scott Hanson, Principal, whose dedication to student well-being makes this work possible.

We believe that when schools and mental health providers work together, students benefit in meaningful and lasting ways.

If your school is interested in partnering with Key Counseling Group to support student mental health through groups, trainings, or collaboration, we would love to connect.

Body image noise can get loud sometimes.
When it does, gentleness matters.

Many people struggle with thoughts about food, weight, and their bodies, especially when life feels overwhelming. Those thoughts can start to feel like rules, judgments, or measures of worth. But your body was never meant to be a problem to solve.

Healing often begins with small shifts.
Eating consistently.
Challenging food rules.
Letting go of constant body-checking.
Wearing clothes that fit your body today.

Body image distress is often connected to deeper experiences of control, stress, and self-protection. With support, it is possible to build a relationship with your body that is rooted in respect, safety, and care.

Support is available. Recovery is possible.

Healing from narcissistic abuse can feel isolating. Many survivors leave these relationships questioning their reality, their worth, and their sense of safety.

You do not have to navigate that process alone.

Our Survivors of Narcissistic Abuse Support Group, led by D’Anna Kester, LMSW, offers a supportive space for women who have experienced emotional manipulation, control, or abuse from narcissistic partners or family members.

Together, participants focus on rebuilding self-trust, understanding patterns of manipulation, strengthening boundaries, and reconnecting with their own voice in a community that truly understands.

Anxiety and OCD can look similar on the surface… but they are not the same thing.

With generalized anxiety, the worry usually feels connected to real-life concerns. It is often future-focused, broad, and persistent. The thoughts feel like “what if something goes wrong?” and your mind tries to problem-solve or prepare.

With OCD, the anxiety is driven by intrusive thoughts that feel sticky, repetitive, and urgent. They often latch onto what you care about most. The distress is not just worry, it is a feeling that you must do something to get certainty or relief.

Generalized anxiety says:
“What if this happens?”

OCD says:
“What if this means something about me… and I need to fix it right now?”

Both are real. Both are treatable.
But the approach can be different.

If you have ever wondered whether your anxiety might actually be OCD, you are not alone. I work with teens and adults navigating OCD, intrusive thoughts, and anxiety using evidence-based approaches like ERP, IFS-informed work, and nervous system support.

You do not have to figure it out by yourself.

You may have heard of EMDR… but not really known what it actually is.

EMDR therapy is designed to help the brain and nervous system process experiences that feel “stuck.” Trauma is not just a memory. It lives in the body as sensations, emotions, and beliefs.

EMDR does not erase what happened.
It does not force you to relive every detail.
It does not take away your control.

Instead, it helps your nervous system learn that the danger is over.

The goal is not forgetting.
It is remembering without being overwhelmed.

If you are carrying something that still feels activated, reactive, or heavy, EMDR might be worth exploring.

We offer EMDR therapy at Key Counseling. Reach out to learn more.

Figuring out what you want and what you need in a relationship is not always simple.

Maybe you are not even sure what is a “need” versus a “preference.”

That confusion does not mean you are difficult. It often means you have not had space to safely explore your own voice.

Counseling can help you slow down, untangle old patterns, and get clearer about what actually feels good, safe, and aligned for you.

You are allowed to have needs.
You are allowed to name them.
You are allowed to build relationships that honor them.

If this resonates, we would love to support you.

Not everything has to change today.

Not every habit has to be fixed.
Not every goal has to be achieved.
Not every feeling has to be solved.

Sometimes growth looks like one small, kind choice toward yourself.

A pause.
A boundary.
A glass of water.
A deep breath.
Going to bed a little earlier.

It does not have to be dramatic to matter.

What is one small, kind choice you can make for yourself today? đź’™
