This week, we dedicated the newly renovated lobby at Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia to Dr. Charles Howell, who recognized the need for a children’s hospital in Augusta and was instrumental in transforming our facility into a leader in pediatric care. Throughout his 40-year career as a pediatric surgeon, Dr. Howell has performed over 16,000 procedures and served as a champion for the health and well-being of Georgia’s children. Read more.

Congratulations to Dash on graduating from the pediatric intensive care unit at Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia! Dash was with us for 55 days after a car accident. Our team gathered to celebrate this milestone in his recovery and wish him well as he left the hospital. We're grateful to provide lifesaving care to kids in our community like Dash!

Last week, Wellstar proudly partnered with March of Dimes at the Atlanta March for Babies event at The Battery Atlanta, joining over 1,000 families, healthcare professionals and advocates to support maternal and infant health. Our pediatric team hosted a hands-on Teddy Bear Clinic, helping kids feel more comfortable in healthcare settings, while Dr. Cristina Pelaez Velez shared the importance of regular check-ups. Team members from Wellstar Cobb, Wellstar Kennestone and Wellstar North Fulton Medical Centers walked and raised funds, contributing to the event’s incredible $465,000 total. Together with March of Dimes, we’re building a healthier future for all families.
