At GI Care for Kids, we are proud to partner with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation to raise awareness and advance care for children affected by Very Early Onset Inflammatory Bowel Disease (VEO-IBD). VEO-IBD is diagnosed in children under age six and often involves unique genetic, immune, and diagnostic challenges—making early recognition and specialized care essential.

Our team, including dedicated providers like Dr. Dinesh G. Patel, is committed to delivering compassionate, cutting-edge treatment while supporting families every step of the way. From specialized testing and medical therapies to nutrition support and infusion services, we’re here to improve the quality of life for even the tiniest patients.

Together with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, we’re working toward a future with better treatments, deeper understanding, and—one day—a cure. 💙

✨ Provider Spotlight: Dr. Dinesh G. Patel ✨

Meet Dr. Patel, a dedicated pediatric gastroenterologist who has been caring for our patients at GI Care for Kids since 2003! After growing up between England and South Georgia, Dr. Patel pursued his passion for medicine at the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia, and later completed advanced training at Baylor College of Medicine. He brings exceptional expertise in managing complex GI conditions and is one of the few providers skilled in interpreting video capsule endoscopy.

Dr. Patel is also a proud supporter of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, serving at Camp Oasis and leading our annual CCFA walk team. When he’s not caring for patients, you’ll find him spending time with his twin sons, cheering on college football, practicing yoga, running, or tinkering with cars—including one with no engine!

We’re grateful to have Dr. Patel as part of our GI Care for Kids family. 💙🚀

Born and raised in Ghana, West Africa, Dr. Mohammed brings years of experience caring for children and adolescents with a wide range of GI conditions. Before joining GI Care for Kids in 2015, he practiced and taught gastroenterology at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Mohammed enjoys time with his family and cheering on his favorite soccer teams! ⚽💙
