Today, we celebrate the extraordinary caregivers who show up every single day with compassion, patience, and strength. 🧡

On National Caregivers Day, we honor the nurses, CNAs, therapists, home care professionals, social workers, and family caregivers who make a profound difference in the lives of those we serve.

Caregiving is more than a job — it’s a calling. It’s early mornings, late nights, listening ears, steady hands, and open hearts. It’s preserving dignity, fostering connection, and creating comfort when it matters most.

To our Jewish HomeLife caregivers and to caregivers everywhere — thank you for the love, dedication, and humanity you bring to your work each day.

We see you. We appreciate you. We are grateful for you. 🧡

We’re pleased to share an important leadership update with our community.

Please join us in welcoming Faith Funderburk, MBA, LNHA as our new Long-Term Care Administrator at The William Breman Jewish Home.

Faith brings more than 15 years of healthcare experience and over a decade in Executive Director and administrative leadership roles. She began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), giving her a strong, firsthand understanding of resident care at every level.

Faith holds an MBA from the University of Charleston and is known for a patient- and care-centered leadership style. Throughout her career, she has strengthened teams, improved quality outcomes, reduced reliance on agency staffing by building stable in-house teams, and led communities to earn two Bronze Quality Awards.

Most importantly, Faith is deeply committed to ensuring residents receive compassionate, high-quality care in a supportive and respectful environment.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Faith to Jewish HomeLife and The William Breman Jewish Home! 💜

On World Cancer Day, we pause to honor everyone whose life has been touched by cancer—those living with a diagnosis, survivors, caregivers, families, and the loved ones we remember.

In senior care, we understand that cancer is not just a medical journey, but a deeply personal one. It carries stories of resilience, courage, uncertainty, and hope. We are grateful for the dedicated caregivers, clinicians, social workers, and hospice and palliative care professionals who walk alongside individuals and families with compassion, dignity, and comfort during advanced illness and end-of-life care.

Today, we honor those impacted by cancer and reaffirm our commitment to care that centers the whole person. 💜

UPDATE: We have received the all-clear for all buildings on the Howell Mill campus, and residents are beginning to return to Balser Tower, Zaban Tower, and the William Breman Jewish Home.
The gas company has tested the air on every floor in each building following ventilation and has confirmed it is safe for reentry. Repairs are underway, and gas service is expected to be restored to the campus within the next few hours.
Our team remains on site and focused on the safe, orderly return of residents. We appreciate everyone’s patience and will continue to share updates as appropriate.
---
Earlier today, a garbage truck struck a main gas line on Jewish HomeLife’s Howell Mill Road campus. Out of an abundance of caution, the William Breman Jewish Home, Balser Tower, and Zaban Tower were evacuated. All residents were safely relocated to designated areas and remain secure. City of Atlanta Fire Rescue and the gas company are on site managing the situation, and Jewish HomeLife staff continue to focus on resident safety and care. Updates will be shared when available.

At Jewish HomeLife, we honor Black History Month by celebrating the strength, resilience, and contributions of Black individuals—past and present—whose lives and legacies have shaped our communities and our country.

In senior care, we are especially mindful of the stories carried by older adults—stories of perseverance through change, courage through challenge, and wisdom gained through lived experience. We are grateful for the Black residents, families, caregivers, and team members who enrich our organization every day with their history, culture, and care.

This month, and always, we remain committed to dignity, respect, and compassionate care for all.

Happy Black History Month ❤️🖤💚💛

Tu B’Shvat, the Jewish New Year of the Trees, reminds us that growth doesn’t stop with age, it deepens.

Like trees, we gain strength over time. Our roots grow stronger, our stories richer, and our wisdom more meaningful with every passing year. Aging is not about decline, but about resilience, connection, and the beauty that comes from a life well lived.

Today, we honor lifelong growth — and the care, community, and compassion that help each of us continue to flourish at every stage of life.

🌱 Chag Sameach from all of us at Jewish HomeLife. 🌱

Today, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we pause to remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust and to honor the survivors who continue to share their stories.

We are deeply grateful to Hershel Greenblat, who did an incredible job recounting his life journey as a Holocaust survivor during a recent program at the The Balser Tower and The Zaban Tower. His words were powerful, inspirational, and a moving reflection on both unimaginable struggle and remarkable triumph.

December was a busy and meaningful month at the Towers, with incredible attendance and engagement throughout — a testament to how important remembrance, education, and shared history remain within our community.

On this day, we remember. We honor. And we recommit to ensuring these stories are never forgotten.

🕯️ Never forget. 🕯️
