Soā¦letās talk Adjudicationsā¦
First of all, when Iām in the booth Iām having a time! āØItās a whole partyā¦now if Iām at the tableā¦I obviously sit down, Just know, the job get done & I give grows & glows the entire performance! I only cut up when my recorder is on PAUSE!š
Anywhoā¦when yall get yall score sheets or audio notes are you getting actionable steps to fix said feedback or just feedback or things to fix??
Do you receive both GROWS & GLOWS? Surely something went right, itās never ALL bad!
Do you let your squad listen/you read the comments out loud? -OR do you paraphrase & share the parts you want them to hear?
As an adjudicator, Iām ALWAYS talking to the dancers NOT the coach but I affirm the things I know coaches say or enforce likeā¦.conditioning, technique, hair, smiles, uniform, tightsā¦all of these things matter! The score sheets ALWAYS has an appearance and/or overall look section!
My assumption is the coach KNOWS (or should) exactly what Iām talking about but often times the kids donāt listen. Now, in many cases the coach wants feedback OR there is no ātrained coachā (i.e. sponsor or advisor) so I make reference or give comments on the choreography, transitions, formations, field placements, etc in case theyāre wanting that whether itās a grow or glow!
Letās talk about itā¦drop your questions or experiences with adjudications below. Judges, yall chime in too!
