“My name is Sarah Ertley, and I am a Senior Cardiovascular Technologist in the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Department at Northside Hospital Cherokee. I am a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) and earned my Associate of Science in Cardiovascular Science from Gwinnett Technical College.
Although I initially planned to pursue a career in ultrasound technology, attending an informational session introduced me to cardiovascular technology. Seeing the coronary arteries illuminated during procedures sparked my interest, and I quickly developed a passion for the field. I have now been with Northside Cherokee for five years and truly enjoy every aspect of my role.
In the Cath Lab, I assist with both emergent and scheduled procedures, including diagnostic and interventional cases to identify and treat arterial blockages. I also support cardiac implant procedures, such as pacemakers, and participate in ablations within the Electrophysiology Lab. I value working at Northside Cherokee for its exceptional culture and comprehensive benefits, which consistently exceed my expectations.
Outside of work, I enjoy listening to audiobooks, watching Netflix, and spending time with my husband. We love being outdoors hunting, fishing, and enjoying nature, as well as traveling together on cruises to explore new countries. I am honored to serve as a Northside Brand Ambassador and look forward to highlighting and sharing the important work we do in the Cardiac Cath Lab.”
