Mercer University Department of Public Health

Mercer University Department of Public Health Welcome to Mercer University's Department of Public Health! This is an exciting time in the field of Public Health. We appreciate your interest in our programs!

We are delighted to transform students into competent, passionate professionals ready to tackle the complex and dynamic challenges of public health in neighborhoods and the populations in the United States and the world. The Mercer Department of Public Health is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CePH) in programs offered in both Atlanta and Macon, Georgia. We offer undergraduate and graduate degrees, and combined degree programs. We also provide our faculty, students, and partners access to cutting edge research opportunities through our Center for Evaluation and Applied Research. Public Health is a vastly growing field, and Mercer's Public Health program offers students a rewarding opportunity to help reduce health disparities and to improve the quality of life for families and communities. Mercer offers a Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) degree, a generalist MPH degree teaching skill sets that open doors to various opportunities in the field, and combined degree programs in DPT/MPH, PharmD/MPH, and MMSc/MPH.

🚨 Urgent Action Needed

The Department of Education’s new proposal excludes public health degrees like the MPH and DrPH from its definition of ā€œprofessional degrees.ā€

ASPPH warns this could impact student access, federal support, and recognition of our workforce. We are calling on you to use your advocacy skills and speak up.

If you took action in August, thank you. But we’re not done yet.ā€Øāœ”ļø Stay informedā€Øāœ”ļø Share this updateā€Øāœ”ļø Contact your elected officials using ASPPH’s guidance

Our degrees matter. Our work matters.

We’re back with Why Mercer? – Part 2! šŸ§”šŸ–¤

Earlier this month, we heard from our students about why they chose Mercer for their Public Health education. Now, it’s time to hear from two of our amazing faculty members as they share:

ā€œWhat makes Mercer’s Public Health programs different from other institutions?ā€

Their perspectives highlight the heart of our program, where faculty, students, and alumni come together to make a lasting impact on healthier communities. šŸŒšŸ»
