Does tissue thickness matter?
If your implant cases are recession-prone, the problem may not be the implant. It may be the tissue thickness.
In implant dentistry, tissue thickness is not a minor detail — it is a biologic advantage.
Thicker peri-implant tissue can help deliver:
• Less recession
• Less crestal bone loss
• More resistance against peri-implant disease
• Better long-term esthetic stability.

When the tissue is thin, the risk goes up.
When the tissue is stable, outcomes become more predictable.
Great implant dentistry is not only about placing fixtures. It is about building and protecting the environment that keeps them healthy, functional, and esthetic over time.

Digital dentistry isn’t about scanners. It’s about control. Study Club - Georgia Prosthodontics

In immediate implant cases, small errors create big complications.
This course shows how CBCT + intraoral scanning + digitally designed restorations allow you to plan with confidence, reduce bone loss, and simplify restorative steps — even in fresh sockets.

Taught by a board-certified prosthodontist actively treating complex cases, this is education grounded in reality, not theory.

“When esthetics are done right, nothing looks “done.”

Swipe to see a maxillary rehab where soft-tissue control + ceramic light management changed the entire smile perception—without the “veneery” vibe.

Before: open margins, disharmony in value/shape, uneven gingival heights & incisal edges, and an occlusal plane that didn’t support the smile.

After: disciplined tissue architecture with proper zeniths, incisal edge position following lip contour, and ceramics built to control light—reduced luster + intentional surface topography/anatomy for a believable, natural result.

Slide 2 maps the gingival + incisal embrasures to make the improvement obvious.

Slide 3 is the payoff: extraoral close-up that shows how “natural” is really a collection of micro-decisions.

Key clinical points:
• Preserve teeth whenever possible—no extractions in this plan
• A few implants were included and managed to be indistinguishable in the smile
• Esthetics is not color alone: zeniths, plane, incisal flow, texture, and luster are the difference makers
If you’re into this level of detail, follow — I share real cases, workflows, and practical pearls.

“Pressing the reset button” — without extracting a single tooth.
This patient came in with multiple failing restorations and implants, mismatched tooth color, inconsistent tooth size, and a smile that no longer felt natural.

✅ Goal: restore a smile that looks authentic—and a bite that’s engineered to last.
✅ Outcome: all teeth were saved, function restored, occlusion rebuilt, and esthetics harmonized.

My approach was systematic:

Comprehensive diagnostics (photo series, perio/implant evaluation, occlusal risk assessment)

Occlusal blueprint (recorded function, guided stable bite, planned vertical + envelope of function)

Esthetic design (midline, incisal edge position, tooth proportions, shade strategy)

“Test-drive” provisionals to validate comfort, phonetics, and function

Definitive restorations designed for durability, cleansability, and long-term maintenance

Protect + maintain (nightguard when indicated, hygiene protocol, recall strategy)

If you’re a patient considering a full-mouth reconstruction: results should look natural and feel stable.
If you’re a dentist: happy to share the workflow—this is what we teach at GPS Dental Training Center.

Save this case. Share with a colleague.
