Please join us for this years, free, Resilience grief workshop.
Support when you are on your journey through grief can be life changing.

Hear from one person's experience of the power of grief support.

“I recently experienced the loss of my younger sister, and as you can imagine, for someone that had never experienced the loss of an immediate family member, it was an event that turned my world upside down, to say the least. The grief sessions, offered by the Hospice Atlanta, not only provided me with the guidance and tools in how to grieve my sister but how to help my parents, brothers, sister, son, and husband in the process. Additionally, the amazing camaraderie and friendship that we created within our support group is invaluable to me for the rest of my life. A special thank you to my group leaders for your patience and volunteering your time to this beautiful cause.”

We close out Social Work Celebration Month strong, with our Social Work Appreciation event at Visiting Nurse Health System!

True to the event theme for our Social Workers to Fill Their Cup, we honored their dedication and commitment with our patients' hearing, first hand from our patients how Social Workers have changed their lives! We welcomed onsite massage therapists and Wellness Coach Ann Pauley, LNMT owner, Life Changer Wellness https://lifechangerwellness.com/, sharing practical tools our social workers can do to take care of themselves so they can continue taking care of others. These are tools to carry into every visit, every long day, and all year long!

Add in a lovely lunch, meaningful conversation, it was a perfect way to celebrate the impact our social workers make every single day.

Thank you for all that you do, continue to refresh, refill, and renew. 💫

Visiting Nurse 2026 Gala Video

03/12/2026

Last night, more than 300 compassionate supporters gathered for our Legacy of Care Gala, reminding us of a powerful truth: every life deserves dignity, compassion, and the chance to age safely at home. On behalf of Visiting Nurse Health System, thank you for being part of such a meaningful evening!

We were honored to have Master of Ceremonies Monica Pearson take us through a memorable evening filled with memorable moments. We recognized our Celebration of Honorees Helen & Jimmy Carlos, Onyeka Okongwu (Big O), and Stan Jones for their legacy of care, championing our community and lifetime achievements. We are deeply grateful to our Host Committee Co-Chairs, Dr. Nzinga “Zing” Shaw, and Dr. Adrian Epps, along with the entire Host Committee, sponsors, volunteers, and guests who made the evening possible. And a very special thank you to Mayor Andre Dickens for his welcome remarks.

Together we celebrated inspiring leaders, heard powerful patient stories, and rallied around programs that ensure older adults, especially those without insurance or with limited coverage, receive the care they need. Your generosity also supported life-changing programs like CAPABLE that help seniors regain independence at home, and remote patient monitoring which allows our nurses to track high-risk cardiac patients and intervene before emergencies occur.

Here is the Gala video for you to enjoy. Visiting Nurse 2026 March Gala Video.

Why Choose Visiting Nurse Health System | Hospice Atlanta?

Visiting Nurse Health System, the largest nonprofit in Georgia providing person-centered home healthcare, long-term care at home, and hospice services, is an organization dedicated to helping people manage their health and recover from illness in the comfort of their own home. Our nurses, therapists and other professionals give patients quality one-on-one care, helping them achieve the best possible outcomes in their homes, whether they are recovering from a surgery or acute illness or managing a long-term chronic condition. Our goal is to allow the patients we serve to maintain their independence and avoid repeating hospital or nursing home stays.

When patients face a life-limiting illness, our Hospice Atlanta team knows the patient and their families need a special kind of care. We strive to ensure that every patient is cared for compassionately, comfortably and with dignity, and that every family receives the support they need during this difficult time, regardless of their ability to pay.
